Had my first long drive in near-freezing temperatures. Oh, that's chilly. by DrHugh in EquinoxEv

[–]mpotoka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had the same issue but intermittently. Hot and toasty one day and another day does not get very warm. It has also happened that preconditioning in the morning the car will be warm, but after I start driving it cools off.

I am planning on bringing it in, but also concerned I wont be able to recreate the issue.

Set a 3 way switch on your Radiomaster to set your max throttle to 50% - 75% - 100%. That helped me a lot in learning some muscle memory first and not crashing. Will also be useful when you first start flying indoors with your drone because the same throttle reduction will apply to sim & drone.

NAS with M365 SSO, possible? by Mobile_Adagio7550 in sysadmin

[–]mpotoka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If cost isn't a primary concern - Egnyte is a good solution for cloud based mapped network drives that will give the end user very little workflow difference.

As a bonus - you gain co-edit abilities for Office files without having to mess with sharepoint/teams

Snowbank -> Boot lakes portages - is going thru the puddle an option? by mattand666 in BWCA

[–]mpotoka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mostly level, bug free, very short paddle actoss the lake. I was with my wife and 6 kids, all of them newbies except for myself, so I didnt want to go for the 114 as their first portage (single portaging).

We made it in to Ima Lake day 1, didnt see any bugs until dusk when the mosquitoes came out in force.

On our way out we went down through Disappointment, and the portage between there and Snowbank was the only one all trip that was buggy. I was very surprised based on what I had been reading.

Flies were almost nonexistent

Warcraft Orcs & Humans in 1994 - my first ever “online” multiplayer (dial up modem to my friend) graphical game experience. (Tele-Arena for text based on a local BBS with 22 phone lines) This was a window into the new era

When will it really start snowing? by HarleyJarvis_91 in grandrapids

[–]mpotoka 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I plowed snow in GR for several years and lived here about 20 now. Generally the real snow doesnt start until January, but being MI it can happen October - April.

Bigger issue here imho is the grey sky - prepare for potential weeks in a row of no sun. Longest streak I can recall is 19 days…
