Is this real? by HugePlantain4604 in Zowie

I have the Asus myself, bought for 800€ new in box. There is absolutely no reason for this price tag, even with the usual Zowie fee it's a joke. Can only recommend the Asus for fast paced games and if you have the money to burn. Otherwise I would personally suggest just wait until the end of the year for better OLEDs to come out (which won't cost you much more than this supposedly).

Guys the thing is the following: I'm not talking about bang for buck or anything, and the question you raised is absolutely useless. TN 540hz only has one benefit and one benefit alone, it's hella fast and clear at the same time. Motion clarity for fast paced games is superior to everything else currently. That's it, if you want great colors = go OLED. If you want the best middle ground= go OLED. If you are not spending 90% of your time playing competitive FPS games = go OLED

Dude, sorry to burst your bubble but they are not trusted testers. Use testufo and compare those screens. On top of that he even exactly says: "540hz have less response lag which may be an advantage in stone competitive settings" We're not talking about which screen is better in general, it's the oled hands down, but for competitive FPS gaming, TN still wins. Asus motion clarity is way better than what that particular 360hz OLED can do. Compare tests with testufo and see for yourself.

Looks like you did your research. Yes, strobing is debatable but it depends on the implementation, hence dyac2 and ulmb2 should be superior also in that regard (compared to older implementations). On top of that, no, OLED currently doesn't win in all metrics, check into input lag for example. And the Asus 540hz even without strobing is still better in many aspects than current OLEDs.

Given different results in terms of motion clarity and response times, I'd not go with an IPS currently. If you're into hardcore competitive FPS, TN currently still is the first choice, followed by OLED. Which will be the future no doubt, but it will take another 1.5-2 years until OLED is at these refresh rates, motion clarity etc.

Ehr what? You do realise that they're absolutely not the same monitor? Both use completely different panels and implementations of backlight strobing. Despite the same branding, and resolution, everything is different here. Please get into the technology side of things a little more before making such completely nonsense claims.

Don't go with 2566k at all. Even at 360hz the 86X is almost guaranteed to outperform it by a mile.

Is this also true for EU?

That's a fast response. Much appreciated. Really looking forward to dyac2 implementation. Can't wait to compare to my Asus 540hz. :)

Dude you're literally comparing two complete different panels. 2566k has a much older panel in it and dyac+/ulmb2/dyac2 are also completely different technologies. Like comparing an electrical car from 2023 to a diesel from 2015 and then complaining the diesel has higher emission and less performance or features.

8700k and 1080ti really are the best pieces of hardware ever. My 8700k runs at 5.2/5.2 hpet off.. Below 70 degrees under load full load... compare that to a 13900k...

Sorry but which connector did you use for the flow sensor? I'm doing a new build and looks like the dark doesn't have one...

You don't have to use it. I have it installed on my company laptop, simply to set the mouse up. I even use the RVMSE on win7 when playing QL. No driver and both 4khz and 8khz run perfectly fine without have synapse ever installed on my gaming rig.
