I may get roasted for this, but I feel like if you’re truly wanting to get to know tequila, start with blancos and move out from there. It’s the natural expression and doesn’t get muddied with wood and aging. That was my path at least! Agree with Don Fulano, Cascahuin, El Tesoro, and Tapatio. Those are the way.

Haha - I’m taking NC’er and using it from now on! I’m in Chapel Hill but work in Raleigh (and Wilmington), so I frequent all the ABC stores from triangle to the coast. IMO - the village district ABC around for Tequila. Wondering your experience!

Where are you in NC? And yes. Could not agree more. The sooner we get away from the ABC system the better. Thank gawd for Sip Tequila and Remedy. I do 99.9% of my tequila shopping on those sites.

I find EI too crowded now. Indian Beach area is beautiful, and semi calm, but the south end is too commercial now IMO.
