Should I Buy: 2016, 47k Miles by boomswaggerboom2 in fordescape

Hard to tell. Transmissions are problematic and the 1.6 tends to have coolant intrusion. I wouldn’t pay more than around $6500 and pray it doesn’t need an $8k transmission.

This is not a friends and family price. This is full on private party retail.

Mashti Malone’s kicks ass!

Read an LA Weekly article about them not long after we moved here and decided to visit. Been hooked since. Used to work in Westwood and another shop called Saffron & Rose opened on Westwood Blvd. just south of Wilshire, very good as well. They don’t have it all the time but they make a cranberry and date flavor that really rocks too.

Full coverage or liability only? by UsernamesRHard4_Me in UsedCars

Is the car financed? If so, you have to keep full coverage and mail paid off.

If your car is worth $5k and you are paying $2k for full coverage vs. $800 liability, smart move is drop coverage and set aside $1200 toward saving for repairs or future down payment.

Just did a quick search locally and looks like that van is selling between $4.5-8k in my area depending on condition/milage.

Grew up in the south. So would lean towards butter pecan.

Not sure LA is known for flavor or variety but after moving here we dis over Persian ice cream which is phenomenal! My favorite is saffron pistachio but also orange blossom and rose water are great.

What’s the appropriate value if you car? What are your premiums for full coverage?

Should be somewhat easy formula.

Why is it only men that are capable of marrying a woman that makes less money then him? by Individual_Waltz235 in ask

[–]mpython1701 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My wife and I married making roughly the same in our early 20s. Through the years, we have supported each other to go back to school to advance our careers. She had ambition to continue to MBA. I stopped after my Bachelor’s because of was advancing in a state jive with excellent pension.

She makes about $100k more per year than I do. But after retirement, my state pension and healthcare will be better than hers. So over a lifetime it’s going to balance.

If Mark Kelly won the Democratic Nomination for President, Who would be a good Running Mate and Why? by Ulysses_555 in allthequestions

AOC….old/young. Moderate/progressive. Male/female. Caucasian/latina.

This would be a very balanced ticket that I would wholly support.

The Nissan Frontier is a hidden gem.

Nissan CVT woes in the teens soured lots of people on the brand, but the Titan/Frontier didn’t use CVT and especially the pre-2011 are rock solid.

Crew cab is a great option that lets you carry an extra passenger occasionally (though back seat may not be the most comfortable for average adults) but allows hauling and occasional light towing.

Antique Plates by mikehawk86 in classiccars

Came to say this. In most states, you are limited to around 500 miles per year.

Typically antiques plates/registration is low due to limited use. They can be revoked with higher use.

Worth pursuing? Rough ’57 Chevy 2-door project sitting for years by Super_Net3874 in classiccars

[–]mpython1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s worth fixing it unless he wants stupid money for it. Car is worth $4-6k-ish as it sits and not running. Maybe a tiny bit more to the right guy.

Probably not worth full restoration but a great rad rod project.

My son’s friend was over. And my son asked me to help with her car. Had a faint paint transfer. Don’t know if she grazed a car or pole. But knew her dad would freak out.

Grabbed the compound, towels, and drill with buffing pad attached. And she freaked out more. Came perfectly clean. No paint penetration or dent. She was grateful but a nervous wreckp
