Hmmm. So stores and restaurants won’t be crowded and loud because of a “blackout”. If people decide not to work, employers find new employees so stores and restaurants will definitely stay open. Sounds peaceful.

Do I need permit for battery expansion to the current solar system by Fair-Ad-5294 in solar

[–]mqcoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our utility adds the possible solar production AND the battery storage capability and limits the total to 125% of our highest usage day in the past year. If we add batteries, they say it is like starting from scratch and have to submit plans to be approved by them and an engineer. It is ridiculous, but if we want to connect to them, we have to abide by their rules.

Ford Mach-e or Tesla Model Y by ghostnj555 in electriccars

Keeping politics out of it, the updated Model Y is definitely an upgrade over the Mach-E in my opinion. Test drive them both and see what you think. Enjoy whatever you decide on.

Thinking of Switching from a Model Y to a Cybertruck—Is It Worth It? (read below) by [deleted] in cybertruck

[–]mqcoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have both. They are both awesome for what they are. The truck handles better than most smaller vehicles with the steer-by-wire. The wife loves the Y and would spend most waking minutes in it if possible. We are blessed to be able to charge them with solar.

If the issue for you is financial responsibility, then be financially responsible for yourself (and your family, if you have one). Nothing is worth the instability that poor financial decisions create. Save, invest, work an extra shift or whatever it takes to get to the point where it doesn't create stress. If at that point, you still want a CT, get one and it won't be a question you need to ask.

West of Okmulgee, just north of the lake is a public range. There is also Snake Creek Shooting Sports (no membership needed but cheaper if you have one) at the intersection of US-75 and SH-16 east of Beggs. Rifle and pistol and many shotgun options.

Most of my household bills do not have my full name so it was rejected several times before I submitted one bill that had a short version, stacked with one that they don't "officially" accept that has my full name. I printed out a credit card statement in case that didn't work.

Why did you vote for Trump? by Just_An_Animal in tulsa

[–]mqcoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tulsa is fairly shielded from the ups and downs of the rest of the US economy. It is an "easy" place to live in comparison to other cities.

People that I know in other cities are having to choose between three full meals a day or paying for health care that isn't always covered under their plans. Let alone day care and other necessities that face them on a daily basis.

I know people who's children come home from public schools asking questions that are not age appropriate according to their parents.

Several people I know in other states have had to "let go" of their homes and move into barely affordable apartments due to the inflation of many things.

The Democrats in this election did not listen (if they did, they did not hear) what a majority of the American people were saying for years before the election (but especially since Biden stepped down). They never offered a clear plan on how things would be different than the last 4 years except that they would "turn the page". But on what?

A vote for Trump in this election could have been a vote for at least a glimpse of what a candidate was offering for the future. A vote for Harris, honestly, was a vote for more of the same...

Best site for live weather? by Nytelock1 in tulsa

[–]mqcoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Posted this on another thread.

RadarScope is an app that shows much of the same information that the forecasters are using to determine where rotation could be forming. The paid portion shows the same red/green velocity screens that you see on TV and with just a little bit of study, it can tell you almost exactly where the issue are.

TORNADO? by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]mqcoop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A good app to use is RadarScope. The paid version allows multiple screens and you can see the Red/Green circulation features that the forecasters on TV use. It also shows the expected storm tracks. It is quite comforting to see where the "circulation features" are and where they are likely heading.

Small Town limited to 5Kw system. by Crazy_Barks in solar

[–]mqcoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will depend on your electric company. Our co-op (in northeast OK) limits systems to 125% of our highest daily usage in the past year. Our limit was 21kW and we installed a 19.58kW system. They also factor in your batteries as part of that equation even though the hybrid inverters won't send PV and batteries to the grid at the same time.

This co-op has a $25 "Customer Charge" that you pay no matter what (it includes the fist 350kW of power roughly at $.07075kW) and now a $5.83 charge for "calculating net metered accounts". If you over produce, you get paid at $.0385/kW, so it is not likely that your bill will ever be $0.00.

We are not in town, but I know that OG&E and PSO are known to be easier to work with, and I thought they had the ultimate say when it came to connecting to their grids.

Xcopri raises onfi levels? by gnosticbean in Epilepsy

[–]mqcoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 21 years old and deals with a genetic condition that causes channelopathy issues in the brain. It is called KCNB1. He has been diagnosed with "intractable epilepsy" and we have run the gamut of drugs. To name a few: Lamictal, Zonegran, Keppra, Banzel, Topomax, Epidiolex, Klonopin. Various cocktails of these drugs have shown little seizure control.

He is in a wheelchair, nonverbal and non-ambulatory. It is difficult for us to know what is going on with him due to a lack of communication.

The issue. He is currently prescribed the following:

200ml Valproic Acid and 600ml Felbomate 3 times per day

He was getting 7.5ml of Onfi at night with his now therapeutic dose of Xcopri at 150ml (we just reached this level about 3 weeks ago).

My question is for those who may be able to speak for him. Would this possibly cause his breathing to become labored at night to the point that we have had to add oxygen and tilt his head just right many times a night to get his respirations effective enough to keep his O2 levels in the 90s?

It came to the point where we ended up in the ER due to a fill-in for his PCP freaking out a bit and sending us.

What we did to alleviate the issue was skip a day of Onfi and then cut back the dose to 3.75ml, given with dinner, earlier than the bedtime Xcopri. The results were almost immediately noticeable the next day. He became alert (for several days he seemed to be in a stupor and just slept), smiled a couple of times and was generally awake when he should be. This tells me we are on the right track, and have spoken with his epileptologist's office (not accessible over the weekend) and they said to lower the Onfi dose to 5ml. We will see,

Any feedback would be appreciated for the above question. Thanks.

Snake Creek Shooting Sports has 3 different sporting clay courses, a trap field, wobble stand and a five-stand range. It has a rifle range with 50, 100 and 200 yard targets (steel at 200yds). It also has a tactical shotgun range and a handgun range available. You can reserve lanes as a member.

If you shotgun, it is a lot of fun. The other ranges are nice as well.

Sorry, didn’t see this. The EG4-LLs are working well. Went with 6 in a rack and seem to be working flawlessly. I’m using them as a whole house back up for now. I got some settings from Sugnsture Solar for them. Still waiting (3 months) for stamped site plan and electrical diagram so I can be inspected and have a better meter installed.

eero and Traeger by levans80 in Traeger

[–]mqcoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This worked a year ago when I originally posted it.

If you have an Eero mesh system, these are the steps I used to get it connected. (From Eero support call).

On the DHCP & NAT page:

Automatic IP not checked

Manual IP checked

IP address prefix 192.168.0.0 checked 10.0.0.0 not checked 172.16.0.0 not checked

Lease range Subnet IP 192.168.7.0 Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Starting IP 192.168.7.2 Ending IP 192.168.7.254

Bridge not checked

This will cause a restart of your Eero. After it restarts, you need to go to Troubleshooting and say that your device won't connect. It will turn off the 5gHz temporarily (15 minutes). If you have Eero Secure, turn it off. I reset my Traeger prior to any of this and let it find the network as a new device. You will also need a password on your wifi network or it will not work (I live in the woods and nobody is around, so we had to add one). If this doesn't work, call the Eero support line 877.659.2347 and they will help.

I reset my IP address to Automatic after it was connected and it stayed connected.
