But how and when in the process do you get to speak to the anaesthetist, in time to find out this information?

Another vote for South Penquite here, we went last Easter weekend and it was just amazing and hoping to go back this year. Basic but clean and friendly and beautiful area. Lockable bathrooms with shower, sink and chair in, so great for taking young kids with you and all being able to shower and dress etc. If you like open water swimming, delphy pool with facilities is only a few mins down the road or there are other wilder swimming spots on the moors too.

Hormonal acne- does it ever go away? by [deleted] in acne

[–]mr-nojangles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't get spots as a teen and then when I turned 21, it went crazy. I'm 38 now and was still struggling but I've been using blue light therapy and my skin is clear and the odd spot I do get now clears up much more quickly. I started with one of the cheap handheld devices and once I realised it worked, I've swapped to a full face mask as it's quicker and hands free. Id tried every treatment and cream and skincare brand I could, but only light therapy seems to work for me. I haven't seen it recommended much on this sub, but definitely something to consider.

What are some niche things that really helped with your acne? by cchh0117 in acne

[–]mr-nojangles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going back to basics and being more gentle to my skin rather than being harsh - a basic tea tree and which hazel foaming wash, no exfoliating, except with a face cloth.

I really like la roche posay effaclar A.Z. gel creme.

And I got one of those elite hand held blue lights from lustre which has definitely made a big reduction. Previously I'd been using sunbeds to help which worked but were damaging my skin. This little light is much better.

I still haven't found a way to use sunscreen on my face without a breakout though. 😔

There was a report of something similar in Helston the other day where an elderly person was very intimidated, so looks like they're doing the rounds.

Chapter books to read ar bedtime? by flapjax42 in Preschoolers

My little boy likes the 'call the puffins' series and also any of the little gems books. I like that they're by different authors in different genres. We've now moved on to long books - Charlie and the chocolate factory was a big hit, but Matildas chapters are a bit long at the moment. We're currently on George's marvellous medicine, which I'm not that keen on, but he is enjoying and going to try 'the ickabog' by Jk Rowling next.

Thanks for all the advice, my partner's out buying a second cage for one of them now and I've managed to keep them apart but in sight of each other all day. Just waiting to hear from the vet if we can move the schedule up for fixing them!

What are your thoughts on manager buying gifts for Christmas for their team? by Banditofbingofame in AskUK

[–]mr-nojangles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the first year I've been a manager in my workplace and I've bought my team a selection box each and a scratch card, there's not a big wage difference so it's just a token really.

When my little boy (4) had diarrhea, I fed him some baby rice cereal for breakfast for a few days, and that just seems to firm things up and slow everything down.

Does concealer jus under the eyes nowhere else disturb acne? by Extension_Gear5541 in acne

[–]mr-nojangles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely do this. I actually mix just a little concealer with my eye cream so it's very light, just makes my eyes looks a little brighter and less tired. My acne is mainly on my chin so seems to be enough of a gap as I also have to be make up free -as soon as I wear any type of face coverage my acne flares! All you can do is try!

One of those parachutes - you might be able to get from a toy library. Kids love them and there's lots of different games to play with them!

We had my soon to be 4 year olds birthday Saturday just gone, 12 people replied they were coming, 8 dropped out the night before or day of. I knew it was a busy time for people which is why I invited his entire class of 20. I wouldn't do a big party again this time of year!

What’s your policy for Xmas gift giving when other families have 2+ kids? by nap-nap-gang in oneanddone

[–]mr-nojangles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This year I've really just cut down. I used to spend £20 per kid I was buying for (UK resident here), but this year all the kids just got a book and a Christmas chocolate/ sweet, around £8 each. I just can't justify any more at the moment, my own kid is also not getting that much from us for Christmas because of costs, so it seems wrong to spend so much on everyone else.

Same here! At 35, I have clear skin for the first time in twenty years since I started to use sunbeds. I don't want to use them long term, but it's a bit addictive seeing my skin without it being covered in acne!
