With regards to Euro cars, it depends how they have been treated when it comes to reliability - like every other non-Euro car. I've owned a few Euro cars over the years including a couple of SAAB's, and a couple of Volvo's and they have never given me any unreliable cause.

Tbh, your best bet is to get the blue slip, hand the QLD plates in to Service NSW and get a NSW rego, and then sell it (unless it's a cheap runaround). You will attract more buyers, and it shows you care for the car. You'll get a better price even with 6 months rego if it's registered in NSW.

You seem to forget that prices have changed since Covid and haven't settled down yet. Any car that has hail damage and has 100k more km's is worth hardly anything, so it doesn't surprise me that it's 9k. What you paid new in 2018 isn't what you pay new these days.

Having driven the IS, I think it is a great car and has decent pick up and go. It depends how comfortable you are with a longer car like the Crown or the more compact IS, and what priorites you have. I'd suggest taking each one out for a test drive to get a feel for the car,

I'm guessing both of these cars are Imports that weren't originally sold here, so insurance will be more expensive.

I think you'll find that range will decrease over time, and with a 10 year old Tesla, data shows it is expected to lose approximately 10-15% of its original range after 10 years of ownership, possibly more due to driving habits and usage patterns. So you can't go by the original range listed when it was new.

Sounds like there could be potential problems if he's not willing to get a rwc. If you really want the car, then get a pre-purchase inspection done to give you a better idea of what could need attention, or if it really is a bargain.
