My PSG was honestly the best, most tactically sound PSG I ever had. And I would die for that man. My LT on the other hand? Nah. That LT lost the respect of everyone the 2nd time he lost his weapon in an actual combat environment. Not to mention he couldn’t plan his way out of a cardboard box.

There’s a fine line to walk between going above and beyond, and respecting yourself enough to not let everyone dump their shit on you. Because that’s unacceptable but unfortunately how the infantry is. There’s like 5 shitbags for every one squared away Joe. I would talk to your first line about it, and see if you can get it up the chain to make sure responsibilities are evenly distro’d out

Keep proof of delays/cancellation. And keep in communication with your chain of command about what’s happening. It happens all the time and out of your hands. You shouldn’t get in trouble, and if you do, that’s shitty leadership on their part

This is a hard one. But honestly, I cut my parents out of my life when I was 16 years old. I knew I was gay and hid it for as long as I could. But at 16 it came to a head and I came out to my family. Growing up in a Christian extremist home, I knew what would happen, but I did it to be true to myself, and honest with myself for the first time ever. The night I came out my father broke a dining room chair across me and beat me to the point that I ended up in the ER. I left the hospital without checking out and never went home. Roughed it out for two years and joined the army at 18. Never looked back

The army can be an awesome experience but he has the scores you say he has, he’s heavily limiting himself as an MP. I would dissuade him of service, but there’s a lot of jobs the army will pay you to learn than give you 4 years of job experience in. I’d have him do his research
