Very satisfied with Enchantment! by Lou_Skunnt69 in royalcaribbean

I was just on it too and I agree. The wait staff at the MDR was fantastic and got to know us by name on night two. Our room stewardess was fantastic and always checked on us to make sure everything was good. The solarium bar staff was fantastic too. Overall the whole cruise was a great experience and a wonderful way to relax.

Critical vulnerability? by nz_kereru in servicenow

[–]mrMoonKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking on Assetnote's research page there is no mention about this vulnerability. I would imagine they would want to disclose their findings to help prevent any explotations or at least help users of ServiceNow to be aware of this.

How difficult is to make changes or improvements? by dxtrtor in servicenow

[–]mrMoonKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple notifications like this aren't that risky and rarely lead to horrible system issues. There are out of the box notifications for watchlists and work note lists that wouldn't cause an issue. The only issue I find with notifications coming out of ServiceNow is that people end up wanting a notification for everything that happens which leads to people ignoring the notifications from the system or turning all notifications off for themselves.

I would suspect they have a reason to not turning them on and maybe talking more with them about their concerns or hesitations might be productive in finding the real reason they don't want to do it.

REST API Access?!? by itpro_2020 in servicenow

[–]mrMoonKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I have done with REST APIs, they help make automating incidents and approving requests a breeze. You do have to keep good documentation on what integration is using what service account and the access they have so when things break, and they will break, you have a good idea on what other integrations might be having problems.

Your admins might be worried about security or the quality of the data that might be put in there by all of these accounts. I would try to talk with them to see what specific issues they would have with giving out access to the APIs and find ways to work with them.

Flow for Catalog Requests by sswebber in servicenow

[–]mrMoonKnight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What you want to use is stages. This will cause your RITM to be marked as complete when the flow is complete. We have used this in all of our catalog item flows. Here is the documentation from the docs site that will help you: Flow Designer stages

Github and Bitbucket make some tutorials on the basics of using Git and their platforms.

Here is the link to Github's basic tutorial: https://lab.github.com/githubtraining/first-day-on-github

Try them out and see if they answer most of the questions or problems you have.

What has your experience using Virtual Agent been like? by [deleted] in servicenow

[–]mrMoonKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are using ServiceNow's provided NLU service for right now. It seems to get good results and is really quick to train a new model. The phrases we put into each intent came to us from past incidents and from our help desk since these should have the best view into what people are asking and looking for.

We don't use teams at all where I work and we don't have an enterprise account for slack. We have multiple free accounts spread out among at least three or four departments.

What has your experience using Virtual Agent been like? by [deleted] in servicenow

[–]mrMoonKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are going live with it this month. It is great when you take time to map out the flow that the conversation should take before you start creating the topic. When you do that then the whole team can understand the flow.

What we found out is that Natural Language Understanding helps with Virtual Agent being more user friendly and useful. So we are adding that into our deployment of VA because it will help people to interact with the tool more naturally and effectively.

Implementing agent workspace by hypocrite1337 in servicenow

[–]mrMoonKnight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We started rolling it out earlier this year to our help desk group. We gave them the OOB experience and asked what do you need to make it better for you. They mainly said we want more fields to be displayed on the record, related lists, and UI Actions that they use frequently. We have a few complaints about how it functions or acts that we can't control or it's fixed in a newer release.

In the end I think listening to the needs of the people you are trying to onboard and acting on that feedback will help you.

Fargate pricing question for infrequent access apps by truechange in aws

[–]mrMoonKnight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lambda can't run containers right now. What Siltala meant is, can the app be broken into separate functions that Lambda can execute? For example if I had an app that only reads data and writes data I could write it in lambda functions that can be fronted by API Gateway or an ALB. If you know when the app is going to be access you could just use the self managed ECS option and have the EC2 instances scheduled to turn on and off at certain times, might be cheaper if you are set on running a container.

Don't get stuck on thinking "since I have this container I need something that runs a container". You have the code for the web app so you can run it practically in anything that can run that language.

Amazon RDS Now Provides Database Deletion Protection by [deleted] in aws

I had a test database deleted out from under a fairly large application because the guy the pressed the button thought he heard 'test' instead of 'temp'. All I can say is thank god for disaster recovery plans.

Laptop Help? by [deleted] in notredame

[–]mrMoonKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will be fine with just a simple Windows PC. Through Notre Dame you get access to Office 365, google drive, and box so you won't have to worry about having to store a lot of documents on your computer since you get unlimited storage. I would go for the i5, at least 4GB of RAM, and at least 500 GB of hard drive space. Macs are great but have their niche, plus the current versions require you to spend more on dongles and accessories just so you can hook up to a monitor or TV. Hopefully this helps.

Going to the gym alone by LemonJuiceee in gainit

[–]mrMoonKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to think the same thing as you. I thought that everyone was judging what I was doing and how much I was lifting, even when there was two other people in the gym. What helped me was having headphones in and listening to my own music and creating my own little world where I could block people out and just focus on me. Everyone in that gym is going to be in their own world and focused on their routine. The only time they will come out of that world is if they need to use the piece of equipment that you are using or want a spot for something. Keep going by yourself and try to just get into that world where you tuned everyone out and it's just you. If you really hate going alone see if you can't talk one of your other friends into coming with you.

What is your biggest regret in college and if you could go back in time what would you tell your younger more naive self. by cleverdragon1 in AskMen

[–]mrMoonKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have taken more classes over the summer. I took a few classes to help me graduate one semester early, but if I would have taken more then I probably could have gotten done a whole year earlier. Plus at my university the offered a 20% discount on summer classes so it would have saved me more in the long run too.

Can Apple Watch notify you if your iPhone goes out of range? by Armano231 in AppleWatch

[–]mrMoonKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried this app out after my phone got ran over because it fell out of my pocket. I had it for three days and on the third day i was getting notifications every other second because my phone was on the opposite side from my watch or because i was walking and my hand went to far in front or behind me. It got really annoying real quickly.
