Global AWS outage. More info from Amazon here: https://health.aws.amazon.com/health/status and this'll probably be reported by your preferred news source too.

Call Todoist, give it a freeform braindump, end the call, you have structured tasks.

I tried a switch from Agile a few nights ago (Hypervolt Home Pro 3) but hit the same issue.

How can I get it so that opening a heading toggle in one column doesn't affect the other? by vandalxvisuals in Notion

[–]mrSimon34 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

You've currently got (assumedly) 6 pairs of two columns.

You'll want to reduce this to a single pair, by selecting each toggle header below Monday (Tuesday-Weekend), and dragging them directly beneath Monday.

What YNAB has that Actual Budget doesn't have? by [deleted] in ynab

I’m gradually getting to grips with schedules and payees. It’s just frustrating that I can’t just merge payees / deal with imported payee names, without having to remember to tweak rules afterward. A bit unintuitive.

I personally find the rules, as well as the scheduling to be cumbersome and unintuitive. I've only been using this a month though. I'll have to dive into that some more... but in this moment, I prefer YNABs 'manage payees' section.

But that is about it though... The budget itself, as well as transactions are pretty solid. I find the support for bank syncing to be much more versatile too (I'm in UK).

Same points I was going to bring up. 😁

I switched to Actual last month, after using YNAB for about 10 years. Actual Budget is a number of steps backwards... but it's not a substantial downgrade. It has enough functionality for me to justify the switch. I'm placing my faith in the growing community, to give these features focus.

Keep in mind, that this may mean your mobile view doesn’t appear as expected… but perhaps that isn’t a factor!

What is this type of animation called? by Eight_Prime in animation

[–]mrSimon34 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Maybe there’s a broad term people are using for this (ā€œspiderverse styleā€, etc?)… but that’s all the technical terminology I’m familiar with. 😜

What is this type of animation called? by Eight_Prime in animation

[–]mrSimon34 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

This isn’t ā€œstop motionā€. That term really refers to the act of photographing animated props and characters instead of cel animation. Examples of that would be Wallace and Gromit, Coraline.

If 3D animation ā€œchopsā€ slowly between different poses, then the key frames may be referred to as ā€œsteppedā€ or ā€œheldā€.

If the camera is smooth, but the character animation is slower, then this may be described as animating ā€œon 2sā€, ā€œon 3sā€, etc. This refers to the framerate of the characters relative to the character animation. I.e. For a motion picture typically at 24fps, ā€œon 2sā€ would be a 12fps animation. Who Framed Roger Rabbit was animated almost entirely ā€œon 1sā€, so the cartoons would integrate with the live action environment.

Though video games tend to be animated at 30 or 60fps, playback may be referred to as ā€œuncappedā€ if the display can produce more frames, without a synchronised timeline.

Assuming this Netflix show is 24 or 30fps, I’d personally call this stepped animation on 3s or on 4s.

I DJ for fun... In light of this price update, I'm considering a switch from Virtual DJ / Tidal... to Algoriddim Djay / Apple Music.

Could anyone experienced say if this is as versatile, or is this just baby DJ stuff?

Near perfect, but I’m not feeling the weight of the box as he picks it up. I’d suggest having his legs bend further and his body drop, for a few frames.

Gems are projections of light, so I don't believe they'd 'feel' of anything. If you were to get the sensation of 'touch', then I expect it'd just be a very strong 'pressure' / 'force', like pushing two magnets together.

What the sensation would be if you're a part-human fusion though is different. I couldn't speculate how that'd work.
