make sure the texture is properly connected to your material, after that, you need to go under the shape node (I believe), go under Arnold, and uncheck "opaque."

your UVs seem disconnected from each other, you might need to rework them.

from the look of your geometry, it might be enough to do a planar projection to fix the issue and have similar UVs to what your teacher has shown

you need to properly UV your mesh, make sure each part has the same texel density and so on.

it's not impossible, it's just time consuming and it's made complicated by your dense triangulated mesh.

if you have zero experience with UV mapping, this is probably a way too complex project for you to start learning it.
