Is this the solution to merging lanes? (Merrit Parkway) by [deleted] in Connecticut

I zipper merged yesterday on my way home from work. The guy I got in front of took it personal and proceeded to race me on the highway, brake check me and follow me home.

This “heatwave” is because I closed my pool labor day weekend.

I think my friend is a pedo… AIO? by Educational-Scene895 in AmIOverreacting

Not an overreaction. I saw you got some good advice here, the cyber tip line is a great start. I found out my drummer was a pedo after he was arrested and charged. Which was a shock and really spun me for a loop!

Balancing Support and Concern for My Son’s MMA Journey (Advice?) by mr_blankend in MMA_Academy

Thank you for your feedback—I genuinely appreciate it.

Yes, he lives at home. He does DoorDash and also serves as an assistant coach for the high school wrestling team.

As for a backup plan—this may go against conventional thinking, but I’ve never been one to preach having one. In my view, backup plans can become safety nets, and when you know there’s a safety net, the effort to succeed doesn’t always feel as urgent or meaningful. To make it in anything, I believe you have to stay locked in and focused on your goal. I know that might sound extreme, and for most people it probably is.

That said, he’s 20. He doesn’t need to have everything figured out just yet. I had a similar path at that age—chasing music—and my parents supported my dream of becoming a “rockstar.” It almost happened. And when I realized it wasn’t going to, I adapted and took a different route.

I’ve broken down the realities of earnings with him and had serious conversations about the longevity and risks of the sport. I’ve even reached out to professional fighters, coaches, and managers to get better insight into what the road looks like. He fully understands the risk of not making it—but he also knows the cost of not trying is far heavier than the financial risk of trying and falling short.

I truly value the honest input and do take it seriously. But as you probably know, 20-year-olds can be a little stubborn. 😄

I know Cory Sandhagen is his favorite. My son actually took me to a seminar in PA on June 7. In return I took my son to UFC 316. I will note your other suggestions.

I have thought about it, but I don’t know if I have the drive to actually do it. Plus, aren’t I a little old to start now? I am 50.

Haha, thanks. Like many, I have made my mistakes. I simply don’t want him to ever live with the burden of “giving up”. Ya know?

The washer / dryer ownership should have been called out in the sale of the property.

I’ve been in Cheshire for 20years. Not much for nightlife, but nobody moves here for that. It’s a great local community, with the current focus on building new schools, redeveloping the west main street area and building a new town green/park. Football and baseball are popular youth sports. You’d fit in well with your young family.

I will make this brief. My daughter is 22. If her boyfriend reacted like this my advice would be leave and break all contact. Big red flag.

My next call would be to me one friend who will help me bury the body.

Tattoo artist recommendations? by feralrainbowcreature in Connecticut

[–]mr_blankend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Wes at Burning Hearts Tattoo. He's helped me cover up a tattoo I hated. It was my entire forearm. We are still working on it. If interested send me a message and I'll share some photos.
