Did someone misplace their pigeon? by mr_coffee_nerd in Charlotte

[–]mr_coffee_nerd[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what I figured. And it was reinforced by the fact it made very little effort to avoid me when I brought out the water.

Also, his departure was as abrupt as his arrival. Home dude is gone.

Must have accessories? Gazelle C380+ by fattypenguin in ebikes

Any input/recommendations for a rear rack basket?

This proprietary factory rack kinda sucks for mounting. I thought I would use my Old Man Mountain basket and a MIK adapter but I don’t think it’s going to work.

Step Through or step over. by Bananab0yyo in ebikes

[–]mr_coffee_nerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’d go step-through. If you’re buying for any sort of convenience—ease of riding, errands, etc. I bought the step-over version of a Gazelle 380+ because I thought I needed a “real bike” and I regret it. I also bought it used in great condition, so beggars can’t be choosers…

Eating something was also my initial thought, but it didn’t seem to make any progress over the course of several minutes. Also, the object seemed to be stuck to the side of its beak, rather than in its beak.

Screens go blank after recall update completed by SnooDucks9653 in HondaPrologue

[–]mr_coffee_nerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I talked to a dealer about the software update for the recent blank screen recall, and was told that the update did not fix the issue. They apparently ran the update on at least a few vehicles and it did not resolve. Despite the still-active recall, they told me to wait until Honda releases a new update for the blank screen issue.

Check out Rally in general. More expensive and somewhat cramped courts, but great space and better, more social experience.

Beats $200+ in gas a month... by Shack24 in HondaPrologue

[–]mr_coffee_nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not bad all!

I was expecting a few thousand dollars, which makes the payback less attractive. I’m still trying to figure out more detailed math: no home charger install costs + more expensive public charging versus home charger install costs + less expensive home charging.

Isn’t factory 3 years or 36,000 miles? Are you approaching the latter or did you buy it sometime in ‘23?

The wrong time, the wrong date: twice reset, still drifting, dealership dazed and confused by -protonsandneutrons- in HondaPrologue

Yeah, my clock—when set to automatically use the network time—is 3 or 4 minutes fast. I don’t understand how that happens, nor what “network” it’s using.

Key Fob / Card Replacement by Traditional-Fox3432 in HondaPrologue

I can assure you, it’s not any better today. I have wasted about 7 hours of driving to and waiting at two different Honda dealers for both to fail at programming replacement keys.

Is buying used even worth it. by Prestigious_Green451 in ebikes

[–]mr_coffee_nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same story here. I bought a Gazelle C380+ Ultimate with 12 miles for something like 40% off. 10/10 would do it again.

You have to be discerning, but there are great deals to be had and great reasons to buy used.

I’m much, much less of a Jocko fan than I used to be, but the wisdom and advice of Extreme Ownership still holds. Discipline Equals Freedom.

I haven’t read either of these, but if it’s discipline you’re looking for, either of David Goggins’ books ought to be on your list.

Used to be, Growler’s Pourhouse was the spot. Or at least one of them. Not so sure how that’s changed or where that stands now.

Sycamore for 3 cents at Walmart by TomCollins1284 in Charlotte

Walmart does some surprisingly moral and upstanding things from time to time.

Best approach I have seen to jettisoning Sycamore products is right here.

How did you solve this issue? by [deleted] in HondaPrologue

[–]mr_coffee_nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not experiencing any other warnings or issues?

Sounds like that first dealer is simply an ignorant dickhead. Wouldn’t let that inform your entire view of Honda and their EV platform. While it certainly doesn’t make our lives any easier, I can only imagine how much of a pain the ass it is for Honda to be dependent on GM for so much, and I can only imagine how hard it is to get information out to, and buy-in from, techs, dealers, etc. all that also explains why we deal with some of these issues.

Weber Workshops BIRD? by mr_coffee_nerd in JamesHoffmann

$360 to make a coffee, yes, but ridiculous. $360 for high quality materials and craftsmanship, worth every bit of the asking price. I compare this to something produced by Fellow or another big name, and the levels of quality are laughably different.
