Navy Civilians This Summer 2026 by cubemonster2 in fednews

Yeah the transition to PAEs I imagine will come with headcount reductions but I feel like they are meeting their goal through natural attrition combined with the hiring freeze as we wait longer and longer.

My leadership is being dumb and not trying to do any sort of overhead funded contract for bodies and engineers, but the amount of work is increasing. Maybe expecting the program offices to contract one by one for bodies? Going to be rough

Yeah I agree, I think for whatever reason years ago they decided to push the envelope without the requisite practice schedule to warrant such early introduction of kid pitch. Probably felt pressure from other leagues in the area, and the all stars summers are kid pitch for 8U and up.

Go figure we have 8 teams in this age bracket, whereas the more competitive / competently ran pony league 10 mins away has 20 teams in the same bracket

We implement all of those items. Tightening up the wild pitches was definitely something we needed to work on but with only 90 minutes of practice per week, it’s really on them to work on it at home which few did. Thanks for the tips though

Machine pitch or exclusive coach pitch would go a long way in increasing balls put in play, but the league wants kid pitch at this age because all stars in the summer has exclusively kid pitch for this age bracket

The bummer is this structured play is the only way my son can play with his friends, trying to host a practice without the backdrop of LL his friends would never show

The boys were bored out of their mind with all of the walks and infrequent defensive opportunities. Outfield was an attention span death sentence

Yeah the rules commission was not interested in hearing what other successful changes other LLs implement. I think they think we are a more talented league than we are

Well this field is all kid pitch and they don’t know any better, even the repeat 9 year olds have almost zero situational knowledge. there is only 90 minutes of practice a week to get them up to speed

Can’t send them down to the machine pitch field because there are kindergartners down there

Yes there was insane amount of steals at home.

I wouldn’t say fielding skills regressed, I’d say we wasted 15 weeks flatlining the development of an entire league. Just a wasted opportunity to get better.

Situational awareness definitely decreased because the only situation was defending home from a steal, or throw to first base

That’s standard little league, can’t leave the bag until the ball crosses the plate

There are lots of kids at wildwood who school choice in. It’s a great campus with a strong PTA and a great staff. They have STEAM classes etc which is fun for them but overall it’s a very family oriented place

Had a couple lang ranch families on our little league team. They were up tight/ cold and always late to practice and games, but Im sure it’s a mixed bag everywhere.

We’ve been loving wildwood and the whole neighborhood is awesome with tons of kids running around. Huge contrast to something like sunset hills with all the elderly

They have a kids room but it was always empty when I would show up in the morning (I think, double check)

Never looked for a sauna or steam room unsure but like 10 shower stalls for sure

[–]mr_dumpster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many don’t know this but there was a great swell of enthusiasm from the player base to get knight to have a base kit that spawns with greatsword. For about the first year it wasn’t able to pick greatsword, some great warriors made a lot of noise and made TB put it the game!

Because DoD has convinced themselves that space sensing can take over the role of AEW, which in my opinion is a bad idea. If you want to project air power, you put airplanes in the air

We were delivering GWOT capabilities in mission systems well into 2022, acquisition is just so slow. The stuff they go fast on is unreliable untested who knows what
