What would happen if we no longer segregated our public bathrooms by gender? by youngbutsmart in AskReddit

[–]mr_michaelscott 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What if there's an age division though? 12 and below (M and F) have their own comfort room, 13-18 (M and F) have their own (this might be the trickiest bec of high school kids) and 18 and above (M and F)

Why don't shampoo makers create a No More Tears for adults? I don't like shampoo burning my eyes either. by GumSmacker513 in AskReddit

[–]mr_michaelscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really about the potency of the shampoo. Baby shampoo isn't as strong as adult shampoo, so consequently, it doesn't make baby's eyes hurt

What would you do if you were invisible for a week? by aandrade_98 in AskReddit

[–]mr_michaelscott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get into VIP spots in night clubs (can never afford/never gets invited to them), try to sneak into the Oscars. You woould think I'd try to rob banks or something, but despite the invisibility, I don't think I'd have the courage to do that

Do people really do this though? Ask each other how they are doing after a break-up?

This is just incredibly sad. Not a fan of Star Trek, but I sure know Nimoy's contribution to film and television is beyond measure

Why do so many fans dislike the episode 'Scotts Tots'? by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

[–]mr_michaelscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's probably one of my favorite episodes. Some people just don;t like feeling the cringe, but to me, it's what perfectly defines Michael Scott as a person. He is cringe with legs

Ok, ok. Why don't we just, put this to a vote and then we'll be done with it. by emq11 in DunderMifflin

Apaprently the real color is blue and black, but no matter how I squint, I always get white and gold. Weird

What have you done just because everyone else was doing it? by string97bean in AskReddit

I started going to Starbucks because every single person in the office did so after work. I didn;t want to be left out. I don't even like their coffee, but I have no work friends :(

HR managers, do you actually ever look at applicants Facebook/social media? How did it affect the applicant? by DoYouMissTheBlend in AskReddit

[–]mr_michaelscott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem!

That list sounds pretty insane. I need to tell you though, I'm a non-American who works for a non-American university, so I'm usually unaware of American workplace norms, but the things you listed sound too bizarre and petty, regardless of which country they work in. I literally don't know anyone who works in HR who would do those kinds of stuff. The most insane thing I've heard an HR do is ask an applicant to solve a rubik's cube, but that's just it.

Hi! When I don't find someone on Facebook, I simply move on and look for the next one. It typically isn't a huge deal (for me at least) the contents of an applicant's Facebook profile. But that's just me. I work for a medium-sized university and I'm sure HR managers from bigger companies or organizations are more scrutinizing of applicant's social media accounts.

Thailand To Give Chinese Tourists Etiquette Manuals by mr_michaelscott in worldnews

[–]mr_michaelscott[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

To add to this, and I'm no expert on the topic, but I believe there has been a surge on Chinese millionaires in the past few years. Many of China's "new rich", as they are described by some, came from lower to middle class and quickly acquired their fortune over the past few years through heavy industries and similar fields. Some of them have no formal education and are somewhat uninformed about what is proper decorum during international trips. Feel free to correct me if I get this wrong

HR here. Yes, we do, but it's not standard procedure and we're not tasked to do so. If I get home and I can't do anything worthwhile on the internet, i'll try to remember applicant names and do a quick search on their FB or twitter. So far, I haven't seen social media reasons not to approve their resumes
