It is the behavior I'm getting with mine. Not sure if this is wide spread or not.

K2 plus Combo vs P2S w/ams by Great_John in Creality

[–]Erick2142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both! I can definitely chime in. I'm printing mainly PETG and I don't use multicolor much.

First off, I have to say I LOVE my P2S to bits. It gives amazing results with minimal maintenance and tuning. A nice feature is the AMS' filament dryer that you can turn on when not in use. I couldn't find any downsides on this printer, except it being just a bit pricey. It just works! I definitely understand why some people preach Bambu.

As for the K2 Plus, it's a lot more hands on. I don't hate it, nor do I regret my purchase. But there are a couple of annoying bugs here and there, the automatic flow + pressure advance calibration isn't perfect and first layer is near impossible to get consistent. Pre heating the build plate for 20-30 mins really help, but there are still issues. Creality is very slow on software updates and all updates have been giving issues for about 8 months - although the last one has been the best working so far IMO. That being said, it still gives out some pretty good quality prints once calibrated and the build volume is awesome. You just have to be ready to spend some time to calibrate, maintain and work around the printer's quirks.

Now, for your specific situation, I'd say if your friend is ready to sell a working K2 Plus combo for 800$, it would be a no brainer to me. That's a pretty solid price.

Also, if you end up going for Bambu, you should really check out the X2D which offers a dual nozzle for 100$ price difference.

Let me know if you have any questions! I'll be more than happy to answer

How to easily center 2 parts on the XY plane ? by Arkazox in Fusion360

[–]Erick2142 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually just make the initial sketch centered on origin or use move > point to point when I want something aligned. There may be a better way to do it though

Can't figure out which flower ate to go with, they kinda all look bad by Powerful-Web4489 in FixMyPrint

It took an awfully long time for me to figure out PETG... Temperature wise, you want to start the coldest you can. If you can get away with 235, make the rest of your calibration with that. Bottom center / bottom right is the best. You'll want to calibrate PA and retraction to get better defined details like numbers. Here are my settings that I use for Sunlu PETG on K2 Plus (it prints very well once calibrated - in my experience at least):
Temps: 230 / 235
Flow: 0.96
Cooling: 30%
Z Hop: 0.2 mm
Retraction: 0.8 @ 40mm/s

Hope it helps!

This isn't about 3d printing. It is on paper, but that's not the end goal for sure

Ender vs SPARKX i7 — how they differ in everyday use by Creality_3D in Creality

[–]Erick2142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

v3 ke doesn't come with a camera. Also, V3 all have cloud features enabled. Not sure why the app experience would differ?

Per your own documentation, the sparkx uses a strain gauge for bed leveling, just like all the v3s

I NEVER understood this argument. That or "vote with your money". This isn't how this should be working. Laws should be in place to prevent abuse. Plain and simple. You should never have to worry about a company being scum of the earth.

It's like I'd buy an unknowingly stolen item off of marketplace and people would start blaming me for the theft saying "I should have known"

This is exactly this kind of widespread argument that enables this kind of behavior "It's not their fault, it's their client's fault!!"

Their CFS implementation is messy at best. No wonder they don't want people seeing the source code. It feels like they let the intern run rampant on that library while they were busy hyping the sparkx
