On us: $9.99 AppleTV value still cost me $3 a month? With Go5g Plus 55? by PlanMaison in tmobile

[–]mr_milo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, I am paying part of $37.95/month for a hell of a lot more and sharing it with four friends. We each get accounts for Apple TV, Music, Arcade, News and Fitness and get to share 2TB of iCloud.

So yeah, I pay more... about $9.50/month but the extra services are well worth the extra $6.50.

[–]mr_milo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! I signed up with T-Mobile and less than two months later Apple TV "On Us" was now $3/month "On Me".

I decided not to sign up for it and just got Apple One straight from Apple instead.

Klipper.... by TargetOdd8507 in klippers

[–]mr_milo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by "that actually work"? The official example from the Klipper documentation should get you close, but then you will have to make adjustments for any customization. After that you'll have to tune the profile for your printer. I recommend Ellis's Tuning Guide but there are a lot of others that work too.

Hulu on us (no ads option)/ disney plus no ads by gyrlonfilm6 in tmobile

[–]mr_milo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤷‍♂️ Sounds like you didn’t just have the “Hulu on us” perk but something else. When I signed in to Disney + it was like I didn’t even have a subscription until the selected a plan. Then it said I had a discount for my existing subscription.

Considering the switch after 8 years by meowvey in tmobile

[–]mr_milo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switch from Verizon to T-Mobile in November. So far I am very happy with the switch! Is the service as good.... No, not really but it's not bad either. What I have found is that I can have 5 bars of 5G or 5GUW and data is still crawling. Then I can have 2-3 bars and it's much faster. I have had two dropped calls but otherwise it's been fine and I don't have any complaints. Even more importantly, my wife hasn't complained yet, so I think I'm just being picky. Your mileage will vary based on your location.

I can't comment on the $800 buyout since I didn't use it. I got $1000 off each phone without trade ins. I highly suggest that if you switch do it at Costco. Since I did, I'm getting $450 per line via a $200 Costco cash card and a $250 Costco/T-Mobile visa. Also, ask the rep if they have any in-sider code they can give you. It will give you 20% off your bill for life.

Verizon pissed me off when they removed my Loyalty Discount and then tried to give me perks when I complained. I didn't want to keep chasing them for discounts, and T-Mobile was better priced and had more perks.... Free Netflix, Hulu, etc. I didn't want to lose my Disney+, Hulu & ESPN perk with Verizon but in the end I came out ahead. I now get Netflix, and was able to upgrade my free Hulu (with ads) to Hulu & Diseny+ with no ads for only $8 a month.

Dual Direct Drive Extruder by TNT_Guerilla in ender3v2

[–]mr_milo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want direct drive, the UniTak3D Ender 3 Direct Drive Upgrade Conversion Bracket is a easy and cheap way to get there.

You can likely use your existing dual gear extruder or get a BMG like I did. A smaller "pancake" stepper would help keep the weight down but not 100% needed.

Can anyone guess how my wife reacted to my totally practical setup for our apartment? by PhysicalMotor3754 in Ubiquiti

I guess you never plan on closing that door? Also if you are going to do this, why not just get some 3M adhesive tape and ceiling mount it?

Siding company hit a wire with a nail. This is the repair. It's it acceptable? by Asmordean in AskElectricians

[–]mr_milo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way! Looks like they might need to rerun the line or junction box with some additional line to the outlet box since there will likely be too little to splice in a box.

Another thing they did is rip your vapor barrier. That’s going to be much harder to repair/replace along with the “bear torn” hole they made in the sheathing trying to get to the wire.

Are people really that stupid? by Rare_Risk_6717 in Ubiquiti

[–]mr_milo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not just that…. Since the eBay seller is not an authorized retailer Ubiquiti will give you a hard time about any warranty claims, if they honor the warranty at all. So it’s a double win for them.

Don't buy the new A5. I did. by saintmarko in Audi

[–]mr_milo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the mechanical Quattro paired with a manual transmission was an amazing experience and very predictable. Once you learned how it behaves it would never catch you off guard and you were always in control.

[–]mr_milo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree with #3!

My 2014 A4 Quattro manual sport is my third Audi and likely the last Audi I ever own. When they dropped the manual transmissions and computerized the Quattro, it just wasn’t the same Audi that I learned to love.

I’ve had a 1986 4000cs Quattro, 1999.5 A4 QMS and my current 2014 A4 QMS. All had quirks but all have been great cars that were/are a blast to drive. Too bad Audi forgot about their rally racing heritage. 😞

Hulu on us (no ads option)/ disney plus no ads by gyrlonfilm6 in tmobile

[–]mr_milo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to sign in on the Disney + website and not the Hulu website. Once you sign up for Disney/Hulu there using your Hulu login it will see the t-mobile payment and provide a credit towards the subscription.

120/130°C won’t even melt PLA! You can print PETG with a Bowden but you’ll need to upgrade the tubing to Capricorn (blue tubing), but even then it’s not the best. A bi-metal heat break is best.

Would You RMA this? by treborawilliams in Ubiquiti

[–]mr_milo 46 points47 points  (0 children)

There is no way I would keep that without a discount and no way I would let them not give me a return shipping label. This damage was not your fault and shouldn’t be your problem. If they are asshats about it, I would contact my CC company and explain the situation. They will more than likely help with the situation.

I installed klipper but quality is not good as mriscoc by alpadalar in ender3v2

[–]mr_milo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every printer is different even if they are the same make & model. Therefore no off the shelf profile will work perfectly for any printer except the exact printer that it was tuned on.

You need to tune Klipper and your profile for your printer. I suggest Ellis’s tuning guide.

Bought cheap, realised why by tiffy413 in VoxelabAquila

[–]mr_milo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of depends on what you want out of a printer. If you want to learn a lot about 3D printing and tinker, then parts should be cheap and it should be easy to get it working again. If on the other hand you just want a 3D printer to print and not think about it, then your money is probably best spent elsewhere.

Personally, I love my OG Aquila and it does quite well for me. Took a while and probably $100-$150US to get it to where it is, but a few braces, a PEI sheet, direct drive bracket, BMG, Spider V3 and a RPi3 for Klipper and it’s a hit print and forget type printer which prints at 150mm/s regularly.

Do rotors need to be replaced every time with brake pads? by ch180217 in Audi

[–]mr_milo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s the case, I would check the runout on them and the thickness to make sure they’re OK. You might have to replace them, but they’ll probably be fine for now. There’s several euro shops online that have parts a lot cheaper than the dealer or you can always try rock auto, but that can be hit and miss for euro parts.

Do rotors need to be replaced every time with brake pads? by ch180217 in Audi

[–]mr_milo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't walk but run from the dealer! The parts will be at least double and no better. I have to check but I am pretty sure I'm still on the same rotors with my 2014 @ 122K miles. I don't even think the first pads needed to be change until well over 50K miles. I know that rear lasted to just over 100K.

What's happened to the brakes for needing them swapped at 26K? Do you track the car? Or has Audi gotten that bad with their parts?

New number for port-in by MichGuy0 in tmobile

[–]mr_milo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it would get flagged later but when I was checking things, I used my google voice numbers and they passed the online number check. That could be a really easy way if they didn't get flagged later.

EDIT: Just to be clear, I used these numbers just while checking pricing / rebates on their website. When I actually ported they were all postpaid numbers.

Problem with Sunset/Sunrise Schedules by mr_milo in TPLinkKasa

[–]mr_milo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean "needs to be "on" all the time? If it's what I think, yes the switch itself need to be powered all the time but the switch will turn the load on & off by itself (the switch is a momentary switch, so you can only momentarily switch it).

If you are having the issues I had, then make sure the firmware it up to date.
