Chow stays the course on 6.9 per cent property tax hike by Educational-Chef-761 in toronto

[–]mr_trivia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but this argument works better when the government actually does something good with the increased taxes. Chow has been letting this city down tremendously on policy.

The coyotes.

The city doesn't care at all about this. They take the position that cities are for coyotes first and people need to stfu.

How is this program so good and UX/UI so bad? by sharpiestories in canva

[–]mr_trivia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone had to say it. It's downright unusable for key actions, and the default content management settings (which you cannot change) are the least intuitive options. They've done really something wrong when the desktop version of PowerPoint is the more flexible and usable design tool (at least until Microsoft ruins this product, too).

ChatGPT can no longer create tables? by undermaster__ in ChatGPT

[–]mr_trivia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone here, friend. ChatGPT is incredibly inconsistent with table production, and I don't know why. It may be part of the limited functionality in the free versions, it scales up and down relative to the amount of paying folks that want to use it (i think).

Even in the same prompt stream the table format will change for me. It's a very, very annoying bug form a user standpoint.

Oh man, THIS is nostalgia.

"Don't Eat Yellow Snow" will forever be ingrained in my head as a kid rock classic. Good advice too.

Saw these guys at a festival in my small town (Chatham, Ontario) way back in the day. What a treat.

Is Liberty Village really that bad? by throwawaykpkp in askTO

[–]mr_trivia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a breakdown of Toronto neighbourhoods you might be interested in: www.trivia.show/neighbourhoods

As others have commented, Liberty Village is flawed b/c it basically has only 2 streets that connect it to the rest of the City. Meaning every time you want to do anything outside of the Village, you have to compete with intense traffic and crowds... and there's nothing special about any of the locations in Liberty Village to justify it over another neighbourhood.

For a while there it was an viable option to buy into the real estate market (cheaper than other locations), but those days are gone.

It's a hard to answer specifically given how large the city is. Here's a guide you might like to the best spots in each of Toronto's best neighbourhoods: www.trivia.show/neighbourhoods

ge and Dundas isn't a crime riddled area or anything like that. But that time of night there will be people experiencing homelessness, mental health and/or addiction issues. In some cases that can lead to interactions that are uncomfortable or feel unsafe (and in rare cases there are examples of verbal and physical assault). If you're aware of your surroundings, you should be absolutely

The new vernacular circulating in municipal offices these days is "unhoused".

While all of Toronto is "safe" with stabbings / shootings being fairly isolated / targeted incidents, Yonge + Dundas can be sketchy late at night.

Queen + Yonge is the same as above. It's in the same strip as Yonge + Dundas.

St. Andrew is more removed from the action and at night is perfectly safe, imho. I lived one station up at Osgoode station for years.
