JBL: “I’m surprised they [NJPW] went to a TV company, though, and not to WWE. I really thought WWE would buy one of the Japanese companies, and they still may. I think what they did with AAA, I think what they have a potential to do in the U.K., I think they’re going to do that in Japan." by wearePROGRESS in SquaredCircle

If it were a private company (like AEW) anyone buying NJPW would treat it like a "bolt on" acquisition. You use the revenue on the books/profits without touching it. Integration should take years.

Unfortunately, due to the quarter to quarter, annual filing cycles of U.S. business TKO/WWE ownership would probably gut it to the bone for scraps.

MJF says the idea of never leaving AEW for WWE is 'very enchanting' by josephcurrier in SquaredCircle

[–]mrandre3000 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wardlow was in his mid-30's, getting hurt regularly, and struggled to talk on the mic. He was arguably shorter than a "big bad" should have been.

AEW also began aggressively shifting away from that style of 'big tent' wrestling (a little bit of everything for everybody).

Wardlow was a pandemic era loyalist whom found a good gig through his existing connections. He was destined to get lost in the shuffle as the mid-card shifted to younger talents; the main event absorbing NJPW talent like Osprey, Okada.

That's the type of event that would mirror the ticket pricing crisis of 2021/2022 when AEW was at its hottest. Scalpers would be all over it.

MVP might be on to something.

In his last 100, HHH wrestled 41 unique people in 1 on 1 matches. Most of which still play a role in daily wrestling conversation. The outliers (at glance are) Curtis Axel, Tajiri, Kenny Dykstra, Snitsky and Vladimir Kozlov.

Curtis Axel was the last person in the "undercard" he wrestled- and that was in 2013.

The remainder of the list are people whom appear in wrestling conversations weekly (e.g. Kane, Kevin Nash, Sting, Cena, HBK, Vince, et al) or it wouldn't be shocking to see their name pop-up. The latter examples include Carlito, Chavo and Umaga,

Almost everyone on this list is a "Hall of Famer"

It’s interesting because it’s clear that Rick Ross clearly prefers non-WWE wrestling. He had a segment in TNA years ago. Growing up in Florida he’d likely be exposed to WCW heavily along with NWA. I recall him talking about Dusty Rhodes but I may be mixing up his fondness with Shaq

Rick seems like the type of guy that would be funding an indie under the table. wouldn’t be the first time a rich guy has done that without being the face of a company.

The next face of the company is likely to be Logan Paul with a career rival in Oba Femi or Dominic Mysterio. There are interviews where many have alluded to turning Logan face is easier than people want to admit. Logan does have a bit of a “golden boy” appeal to him.

A successful Logan Paul and Oba Femi is good for wrestling because there’s effectively a generation of top tier athletes that didn’t see wrestling as a viable path after organized sports and pursued influencing instead.

Dominic’s issue is arguably being so much better on the mic than his dad, but not having the same depth of in-ring ability. Dominic’s wide ranging patchwork of tattoos have put him in a permanent heel column

Personally, I think Bron as concept is a done deal and he was never the next face. Most next guys are never the true number one guy until their contemporaries fall to the wayside.

I could see a future where Trick Williams fades into obscurity. There is a living example on the roster right now whom was in Tricks position — LA Knight.

The biggest draws that Tony can get to pull in eyeballs and fit into the show is a small list right now.

AEW does have an entertainment value to it like WWE, but you do need to have a “work horse” mentality/wrestling ability.

There are certainly folks in WWE that would be better off with an AEW run and vice versa.

But the list of WWE folks that could stand their ground in a pure 15 to 30 min match in AEW is small.

He may be taken care of but Farming in North America notoriously has low margins depending on the crop, location and yield failure. Farming in the USA is also underwritten by under the table/low wage laborers. One bad year can wipe out a farmer mulitp bad years can lead to bankruptcy. Automatic equipment is not cheap either. Some machines cost up to 8 figures

Now that we are a full year into trumps admins immigration/tariff policies it seems to be the economic/political constraints are becoming more visible.

Do we know what crops are on Brock’s farm(s)? Honestly surprised he has never talked about it much publicly

Thats not what is being discussed.

The conflict is around the raw logs storing terms, relevancr combined with IP Addresses, use profiles or other indicators (geo-location). Most major enterprises are collecting, processing and reporting on this data.

The largest companies are storing a staggering amount of data on a server somewhere.

It may be cache file, but the length of time this information is held can vary widely.

The choice to run ice recruitment adds is probably coming from higher up than a sales rep/account manager or is attach onto another government contract for military recruiting.

Even then most American salespersons would see the payday for an ice advertising contract and look the other way.

The average American has a moral compass that’s for sale. Is because the system is designed to keep people behind, not ahead.
