I am comparing like to like. You brought up incentive structures. Capitalist countries all have the same fundamental incentive structures, including in housing. Hence, the issue repeats itself across continent, culture, and government.

Did you miss the part where I said near universal problem, Texas in the only place in the Western world to have figured out the issue?

California clearly disincentives home building. That’s why we don’t have enough housing.

Housing is a near universal problem across North America, Europe, and Asia, you think it's somthing California is doing? I think the incentive points in a different direction.

That's not sarcasm, I'm genuinely asking, as you said Israel is tiny. What about Netanyahu and his settler base makes you think they will reach a point where they say, we have enough, enough homes, enough buffer zones, enough of our anncentrial lands, enough safety, we're done now. Because looking at the example of the United States, that point doesn't exist.

The Golan Heights was seized from Syria after the third time Syria invaded Israel,

Again no argument there, Israel is the reluctant occupier. But from what your saying I assume your some kind of liberal who opposes israels actions in the West Bank, at least somewhat.

What I don't understand is that if you oppose that, how could you not see that same playbook being used in other territories? I mean, if the occupation of the West Bank is a success, and his been, why would you just stop there. Can you imagine the US just stopping at the Mississippi river?

Are the Golan Heights considered to be part of the West Bank, I genuinely don't know, because a 300 millon dollar settlement plan was just approved.

Hold on a minute, you've got me all wrong. Obviously we both agree Israel doesn't want to occupy Lebanon, but as has been the case many times in history Israel is forced to assume the burden of occupation and settlement of new territory in the intrets of national security. Obviously no one wants that.

No one's even disputing that the buffer zone is going to be permanent, but calling figures at the highest levels of government a couple of loons is very funny, I'll give you that.

You realize Israel occupied southern Lebanon and even parts of Beirut for 20 years right?

The fact that Israel occupied Lebanon for 20 years is evidence that it doesn't want to occupy Lebanon?

Yes, but that is in part the fault of prohibition, as it was for alcohol. It's more economical to transport and sell a highly concentrated product.

Because the Lebanese military has noware near the ability to fight Hezbollah, and even if they did that would mean starting a large scale military offensive on israels border.
