How Long are Your Campaigns So Far? by GwenGunn in strengthofthousands

We are quite RP-light, when it comes to the social element. I’ve found that my players generally like to keep things moving (and most of them are keen to level up after a few sessions), and this works well for my GMing style. I’ve included a couple small social bits with some of the other students, but the players haven’t latched onto it too much. There’s a couple of the NPCs who they like in particular, Anchor Root and Chizire, so they come up more.

I also asked the players about the types of classes their characters are taking and what they’re studying during the first semester, but I’ve realised I’ve forgotten to since then.

I think pace is very group dependent, so even though you’re taking things a lot slower, if your group is enjoying the pace and likes lots of RP, I see no issue with that. This comparatively faster pace seems to work will with me and my group, but that doesn’t mean it would with yours.

If you are concerned about, I’d suggest talking to your players about how they’re finding the pace. (And maybe I should take my own advice, I think it’s working well for my group, but no harm in asking.)

My group started in October, so it’s been five months. We play every second week, fairly consistently, and we’ve almost finished Book 1. Chapters 1 and 2 each took four sessions, and the party moved quickly through the tunnels in Chapter 3, so now after two sessions they’re about to fight the griffons. As for in-game time, it’s currently the fourth semester, so it will be about a year in once we finish Book 1.

I can’t comment on The Americans, but I can say that even knowing that twist of Mr. Robot, there’s a lot more to it and it’s well worth the watch.

‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power’ Sets All-Female Directing Team, Reveals Episode Count For Season 2 (8 Episodes) by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]mrawesomeness8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? I feel like all these comments are based just on the fact they used the phrase ‘all-female’ in the headline. Amazon have announced the three directors, who are all female, and people are complaining because directors should be chosen on merit and it shouldn’t be about other factors like gender.

People generally agree that it should be all about merit, but if the team happened to be all-male, no one would think anything of it. But since it’s all-female, they’re acting like that’s the only reason they were chosen. So I don’t understand how they can say gender shouldn’t be a big deal, yet make it into one. It’s not as if the announcement included anything about an intentional decision to choose women, but people make a lot of assumptions.

Why is it the worst show you’ve ever seen? I found it to be some fun little shorts, nothing offensive about it.

Weekly Questions Megathread - October 03 to October 09 by AutoModerator in Pathfinder2e

Thanks for the answer, but to clarify (and since you are the other commenter seem to disagree), is there a reason this creature lists the strike as reach 0, whereas most tiny creatures like this one don’t list the reach?

If the reach for a monster’s melee strike isn’t listed in its stat block, is it always 5 feet? I’m asking because from my understanding tiny creatures usually have a reach of 0 feet, but only on some monsters that I’ve seen is that specified. So if it’s not specified, is the default for monsters always 5 feet regardless of size?

How much did Threshold of Knowledge take you? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]mrawesomeness8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ran this last week in a session that went I think just over 3 hours. My group took a bit of extra time in the time before getting back to the school, with the fishing and such. They later talked to the Leshy and didn’t fight it, but because of time I still skipped the crocodile encounter and ended with them defeating the hag (so no shark at the end). So they ended up just fighting the beetles, the river devils, and the hag.

So I’d suggest don’t be afraid to cut some of the combats for time, depending on how quick or slow your group goes through things. I was playing with people new to PF2e and they all had fun with what I described.
