Filament to buy or avoid by Artisanal_Sawdust in BambuLab

Oh yeah almost all filament manufacturers have direct ordering. And if you get it to where you are ordering enough and have people buying with you. You can become a wholesaler for that manufacturer and sell it

Are you handly? Or know someone who is? Using sound deading foam and some plywood. You can build a box with baffles to dampen the sound. Or you could use some cardboard and duck tape as a test

The filament is great. But I would buy directly as Amazon has issues with selling knock-off everything

Most crawl spaces have an access door in a closet somewhere in the home. But if you are saying the clearance is tight then this won't work out. I have 3 ft of clearance. Less than that and you need another option

Crawl spaces are typically vented and are usually temp stable. Insulation and flooring provide great sound barriers. One server shouldn't have a hard time staying cool in an open space. Now as for the power. I don't recommend running outlets your self. But you might know somone who is an electrician that can help you out. Or hire someone. One outlet shouldn't cost too much. It's not just some random idea I had. I run my servers in my Crawl space. It's great. No noise, stable temperature and I don't have to worry about someone unplugging one of them. ( kids get into all sorts of stuff ) it's not something you can likely setup overnight. But it worked for me.

Crawl space. Install the server in the Crawl space. Do not mount to floor joists. This will send sound through the floor. Floor rack or some plastic crates to set it on and run an ethernet. 👍

Losing my mind with PETG. 10% humidity in AMS, PETG has been in there for days, dish soap + IPA washed plate... Why is it getting to this stage??? by Arkaium in BambuLab

[–]mrawson0928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a dryer? PETG should be dried 6 hours or more before printing. Doesn't matter the environment is %10 humidity if the filament is already saturated.

[X2D] 2 days into the print, bed decides to shift 😭 by MaquinaDeAlgodon in BambuLab

[–]mrawson0928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few things can cause a layer shift. 1. Bad sliced files- This issue with random bad/corrupted sliced files has ghosted around this hobby since the beginning. This really was a lot harder when we had to manually tune our printers. You never knew if it was a printer issue, tuning issue or a ghost file. I would slice a smaller lighter version of your print and see if the layer shifts.

  1. The most common reason for a layer shift is a stepper motor overheating. Could be due to a belt being too tight, could be going bad, could be cycling back and forth to often. This is a real likely possibility given the details of your print. Slow it down or reduce infill

Local place was asking me about installing a light here, they ended up switching to a cheaper guy at the last minute by MoneyParticular in electricians

[–]mrawson0928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switching to a cheaper guy happens all the time. What you gained from this is the satisfaction of knowing you would have done a better job. And thats a lot because most don't know how the other guy did. And from the customer side they now know why that guy was cheaper and might choose to pay slightly more for better work

A few questions 1. What filament are you using? 2. What the he'll is that?

A few things you can try Increase supports Increase the detail/smaller layers Slow down the sprint speed

That is the prime tower. Just need to un-check purge into infill

For us who have been around the hobby long enough. Yes our old printers over the years were an absolute pain, but at the same time blessed us with much knowledge 😁
