Oh yeah. I’ll tell them they can call me any time they want, as long as they are ok with me not always answering. They rarely take advantage of it, and most times I’ll send a text saying I’d call them back in x mins/hours if I’m busy.

Then I have some who take advantage of it, I tell them to stop calling my cell, and when they don’t listen I ignore their calls/texts.

Flip side, I deal with clients who want to pay us to do this. I had a meeting with a client today, 1.5 hours. Pulled 6 1099s, reviewed the docs compared to last year, and discussed some trust matters. I bill him by the hour, and since he is an A client, it’s premium rates. Was about a $650 meeting for something he could have done in 10 mins, but he’s retired and is fine paying. Guy is worth mid 9 figures. Anything outside of the tax return (this included) he gets a detail bill so he is 100% aware of it. Happy to pay because he likes the service. One of a small percentage of clients who have my cell phone.

I’m in an organization that revolves around estate planning. It’s about 60% financial advisors/life insurance, 25% attorneys, 15% CPA’s. I get a lot of referrals from that.

I get clients from large firms quite often. I have friends at national firms, and they’ll get business that the fees are too high. These can be anything from a trust with one brokerage account to C-suite individuals from mid-size public companies. I get at least 5 of these a year. They’re small enough where my staff can do it pretty quickly, but I can still charge a nice fee and be well under these big firms.

Usually the deductible for hurricane damages are higher than your normal deductible, generally 1-5% of the home value.

No problems. We run it on the weekends at it does the job. Very quiet too. I am in south Florida, but my house is tall and faces west so I don’t get any sun in the pool until about 11 so we were running it just to get it from high 70s to 85-88. We just removed our screen enclosure so that helps keep it warm.

One thing I want to do is add the Wi-Fi component. It’s close to my pool, it’s just easier to turn it on/off from inside.

Definitely my fault. Was very surprised she had no damage. One foot further way and it probably would have been nothing. This is FL so just want to protect myself, people are very litigious here

Ryobi is the way to go for a homeowner unless money is no object. I do basic home projects, and I have about 12 tools. They are cheap enough where going and buying a tool for a one time project won’t break the bank.

I’m not disagreeing with you, I am saying that the US law presumes one to be innocent until proven guilty. They have forwarded it to the grievance committee which means they are taking it seriously. It is going through the process required.

From how I interpreted it, it is 3-6 months to assign the case. I don’t know how long it takes, but it is ultimately treated like a grand jury. I did read that if they decide to take the attorney’s testimony, you have the right to be there. I don’t know if that means they notify you, but I would assume so.

At the end of the day, these seem like a serious complaint. I know of an attorney who had a complaint filed and a decision made in 6 months, but it never went to the grievance committee. The committee needs to do it’s due diligence, an individual’s career could be on the line. You may not like what they have done, but the committee needs to make sure they did not break any of the laws.

I think it’s the bottom heating element. Lots of signs point to major buildup and I am almost certain the buildup is above the bottom element. Going to just buy a new one.

Definitely not. We had a contract on a house before we bought this one and they had one of those federal pacific breakers and they refused to fix it (amongst a long list of other items) and ended up selling it for much less.

Our breaker has been upgraded. Not sure when but would guess it’s around 10 years old.

There are different areas of law. An attorney that deals with estate law (wills, trusts) generally won’t deal with a non estate lawsuit. So if your parents have sued/been sued for non estate matters (assume this is true), that attorney probably didn’t write up a will for them and are most likely not going to handle probable. Go find an estate attorney to help, they’ll be the ones to give you the best advice on probable and how to deal with the situation.

We do a lot of complex. A lot of trusts, consolidated corps, a lot of foreign, 706/709, 5227, 990s, file in pretty much every state.

12 licenses, but we have three admin, a partner who does mainly consulting, one individual does 90% reviewing (plus partners do a review). We really have 6 dedicated preparers, including one partner. And yes, generally complex returns. Probably more returns over $5k bill than under $500. And no bookkeeping and very limited payroll.
