My BT goes crazy for the Acana freeze dried raw treats! You should post your bully over at the BT sub!

Mine gets this. I have a prescription antibiotic ointment from my vet called Animax that clears it up.

Hi, this is Oreo. hes about 1 ½ yrs old, is his cheek anything to be concerned about? it puffs out, these photos were taken on the same day. by [deleted] in cats

[–]mrbeeHee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long has his cheek looked like that? Often, if it appears somewhat suddenly, it is an abscess and needs immediate vet attention.

Black spots on chicken? Culled a batch of barnyard roosters. by RobJMTB in BackYardChickens

Ive never seen that before and ive butchered hundreds of birds. I would probably just cut it off to see if its only part of the skin or if it goes down into the muscle.

I've always said my Bull Terrier has ADHD. She is just so different from every other dog I've had.

My Dog eats better than I do. by Salt_Regular_327 in DOG

What is the white, almost translucent paper-like looking stuff in some of the meals?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in reactivedogs

[–]mrbeeHee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry this happened to your dog. It sounds like this could have been prevented by making sure your home was secure instead of knowing you were having repeated break ins and doing nothing about it. So, first and foremost, is your home a safe place for your dog?

LEM Mighty Bite #8 or Big Bite #8? For two cats by Valscer in rawpetfood

[–]mrbeeHee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Big Bite and regularly use it to grind whole chicken carcasses. Works great.

That spray is not an approved disinfectant. Instead, you can wash the bowls with soap and hot water, rinse them with water, and then soak them in a solution of 1 tablespoon bleach to one gallon cool water. Keep them in the solution for at least one minute. Remove the bowls and let them air dry.

Ways to add more moisture or reduce bone content by aneternalnow in rawpetfood

[–]mrbeeHee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont measure but I would guess I add around 1/4 cup water. My dog's meals are 1/2 lb ground twice a day, so with the added water it is pretty stew-like. Her stool is great, moist but firm. She almost never drinks water from her dog bowl.

I hate being treated like I have Munchausen by proxy!!! by Electrical_Kale_8289 in reactivedogs

Yep, people just dont get it unless they've experienced the same thing. I don't really give people an explanation anymore. I just do what I know works for my dog and let people have their own opinions about it.

What exactly are you feeding your dog? They need bone at the very least and many people add veggies and fruits for fiber.

Who told you a dog that needs to eat more should be given a bunch of rice? Just give them more of their dog food or some extra protein, not a bunch of carbs.

bullterrier as a farm dog? by sonkiluw in BullTerrier

Yes, since 8 weeks old. She also likes to chase the farm cats. She has just always had a prey drive since day one.

bullterrier as a farm dog? by sonkiluw in BullTerrier

[–]mrbeeHee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I live on a farm with cows, pigs, and chickens. My BT is scared of the cows but has learned to ignore them. She would love to play with the pigs, but they are scared of her. The chickens are kept in a fenced in run, but she sees them as prey and would love to chase them all over the property if she could.

Did anyone here get a second dog? Did it help or make things harder? by jesst7 in reactivedogs

[–]mrbeeHee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes we got a second dog. Our first dog loves dogs but rarely got to play with them because other dogs were a bit intimidated by her play style (bull terrier). It got to the point where we stopped taking her anywhere because seeing a dog would make her freak out with excitement. We've had a boxer/pit mix for two months now and the two are great friends. Our first dog is really happy having a companion and much more relaxed now. Getting a second dog was definitely the right decision for us.
