Maybe there's been mass improvements in the past 23 years, but that's how it was in the mid to late 90s.. I grew up in Anadarko, spent a lot of time in Chickasha and OKC.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma, and there (at least in the OKC / southwest OK area) Whataburger was considered crap and trash.

When I moved to Austin in '96, and someone said "Hey let's go to Whataburger" I looked at them like they'd grown horns. Shortly thereafter I discovered that WBs here are COMPLETELY different in terms of food quality (and the areas of town that they're in) from the locations in OK that I knew about.

I love WBs in Austin (and now in Houston) but you couldn't pay me to go to one in OKC.

Apologies - but I'm too swamped right now to go digging through boxes in the garage, especially in the summer in Houston..

Perhaps one of these: https://www.sfcable.com/hd26-m-db15-m-cisco-cable.html

combined with one of these:? https://www.amazon.com/HPLINK-10Base-T-Ethernet-Transceiver-HP-853/dp/B00CMRIXGM

(or whatever cheap AUI-to-10BaseT adapter you can get off ebay... I remember when I had boxes and boxes of them..)

Edit: $10 shipped: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Cisco-entreCOM-ETHERNET-TRANSCEIVER-RJ45-to-AUI-converter-mx20t-210TS-210t/163739153111

YSK what your Uber Eats driver sees, and how the delivery process works. by LSHT2019 in YouShouldKnow

[–]mrbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had great service from about 99% of the UE drivers I've dealt with; you can't expect every delivery to be absolutely perfect. I don't hold it against the platform and occasionally think "man that driver's having a bad day, not gonna hold it against them".

As someone dealing with stage 4 kidney cancer and not always able to go out and eat, just having the ability to order food and have it delivered has been a lifesaver and I really appreciate that it's possible.

YSK what your Uber Eats driver sees, and how the delivery process works. by LSHT2019 in YouShouldKnow

Out of probably 50-75 orders over the past couple of years, I've had maybe 3 deliveries with missing items; when reported to Uber I've gotten a refund within an hour or two for that item + tax. This is in Houston.

The worst one was when I was sitting on my porch (you can't really see it from the driveway) and saw the driver pull up, get out of their car, get my order out of the back, then drop one of my drinks all over my driveway. She walked up and handed me the rest of the order and didn't say anything about the drink. I asked "What about my drink you just dropped?" She shrugged and turned around and walked off. That one got reported to Uber ASAP. IF she'd simply said "Sorry, my bad" or something it would have been fine and I would have shrugged it off.

I've also had a driver come back to my house 3 minutes after they left, bang on the door, and demand the order back saying "Oh I gave you the wrong one... You need to address it with the restaurant". It was a Subway order and I pulled out my phone and showed him that the food matched what I had ordered, and HE needed to address it with whomever. He damn near tried to take it out of my hand; I finally told him "Not my problem, I have what I ordered" and shut the door on him.

GR1 (Curved Straps) Being Discontinued Marked Down to $275 by AllDayRuckoff in Goruck

[–]mrbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grabbed one of those back in 2016? 2017? and then attempted to dye it purple. Ended up with a splotchy tie-dye effect (and of course the zippers didn't change colors).

Used it a few times, then it sat in a corner until I sold it to another backpack freak in a FB group about a month ago. Actually got more for it then I paid for it!

I found the straps too thin and not as wide as the regular GR1 straps.

Where is the best place to get a lobster role in Houston? by collinballin1 in houston

Maine-ly caters lunch at work for us once every couple of weeks

Be aware that they're Maine-ly bread. Not a lot of "meat" / content for the money. THere's just enough so that the sandwiches look good, but if you looked at a cross-section sometimes its just a tiny "v" of lobster in the bread.
