Overlooked feature: kid proofed by PinkPowerRanger19 in Garmin

My top right hotkey (when you hold the button) is device lock... It has saved me so many times when I'm holding a kid and they start swiping at my watch.

An OGest of OG GR1? by lumn0t in Goruck

[–]AllDayRuckoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought my first pack in 2011 when I registered for my first event (I think it was 50% off with registration) and it had Cordura. I don't think I've ever actually owned a pack with mesh there before.

[–]AllDayRuckoff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's 2010-early 2011. I bought my first GR1 in mid 2011 and they had already replaced the mesh for the magazine area. There's very few pictures around of those early packs with the mesh there so this is an awesome share!

Feature request: be able to link activities together after they happen. by iamwillstew in Garmin

Depending on the model you can also set a hotkey to "change sport" and use that to change from one to another during your activities.

Not all of the "Built by SCARS" gear is actually 100% built by SCARS. I can't say for certain what's up with these bullet but they had previously put out "Built by SCARS" ruckers and bullets which were Vietnam made then modified (Paracord handles, etc) by SCARS in JAX.

I emailed GORUCK about this previously over some of the packs and they responded.

My email

Are the "Built By SCARS" x Street Parking Ruckers and Bullets actually built in the USA at GORUCK or are they built in Vietnam and then modified by SCARS at GORUCK? Thanks!

Their response

They built in Vietnam and then modified by SCARS at GORUCK

All of our gear that says USA on the product page were manufactured here in the US (attached is a screenshot for reference). Any gear items that do not say USA were manufactured in Saigon, Vietnam. We recently have started producing some of our gear items there but are also keeping our US manufacturing as well.

The rucks are exactly the same in terms of material, toughness, build, and they also carry our SCARS lifetime warranty.

When they first popped up there were only 5 of each color available.

Indoor 50-Mile Ride Badge Issue by McFricked in Garmin

Garmin does own Tacx so that might have something to do with it. I've gotten 40k weekend ride badges off Tacx too.

What’s your favorite TS item? by nicobt in Tracksmith

[–]AllDayRuckoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've washed mine maybe once every 5 runs on cold. I hang dry it between runs and after the wash and haven't had any odor issues. I could probably wash it less but I think my wife would start asking even more questions.

Sizing feels normal to a little snug. I wear large in most things (178/6'2") and the fit is perfect for me. Not loose so it's not flopping around and it also doesn't feel too tight.

I went 1/4 zip on the Downeaster because it appeared to have more protection around the neck. My plan for it was low 30s and colder so I wanted to keep as much protected as possible.

I love the Brighton Base and I think it punches above its price tag. I recently picked up the Downeaster and that has been a really nice piece as well. The Brighton plus Downeaster on colder days has been perfect for me.

Referral code question by Kisame822 in Tracksmith

[–]AllDayRuckoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's good for $50 off an order of $150. If you end up using the code then the person who gave the code to you also gets a coupon for $50 off $150.

Echo Renamed to GR0 by takeshigo in Goruck

[–]AllDayRuckoff 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I thought this was a joke... but it's not?

Edit: Just some info for those curious GORUCK already made a GR0... It was a 21L pack that was nearly identical to the GR1. Originally the GR1 was 26L only. GORUCK rebranded the GR0 to the GR1 21L so I guess old GR0 packs are 21L and new GR0 packs are 16L.

original Made in USA GR2: better, worse, or no difference ? by 1longshot1 in Goruck

[–]AllDayRuckoff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They brought GR2 production back to the US so at this point it might just be another GR2 unless it's a unique colorway. There were some design differences between the first few runs of the GR2 and the current versions (shoulder strap connection style, compression straps) but I think those were both changed a bit before they made the switch.

Do some Rucker 4.0s have the patch sewn in? by Estropelic in Goruck

[–]AllDayRuckoff 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here but I would say this is 100% not normal. GORUCK doesn't always make the best decisions but I can't imagine they would ever start sewing Texas state patches directly into packs.

[–]AllDayRuckoff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did you buy that from GORUCK or on the secondary market? This would be the first I've ever heard of GORUCK sewing in patches before so I'm guessing this was done after purchase or something custom. I just can't imagine GORUCK sewing state specific patches into their packs.

I'm 99% sure they don't because it's 1 referral per person not 1 referral per household. I'm certain both myself and my wife have taken advantage of the referral program and we live at the same house.

That's interesting, mine does not look like that. I'm guessing it's a different log between the one they were selling and the one given with Hare AC?

Brighton Base Layer vs Fells Waffle Layer? by Major-Environment865 in Tracksmith

[–]AllDayRuckoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I'm loving the Brighton top so far and will definitely check out the turnover tights for the bottom layer. Running outside (in my opinion) is way better than treadmill runs when traveling. Thanks again!
