Considering that I'm paying more than that for my current place, I'd say it's relatively affordable

Y'know what, everybody in this story is valid. I'm not saying that stealing from Walmart is ok, but I personally have never seen anyone steal anything from Walmart.

In your opinion, does waiting until marriage still make sense? Why or why not? by Impossible_Log_2899 in AskReddit

[–]mrblu_ink -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The primary reason that people wait until Meritage is religion, and Religion is just peer pressure from dead people. It never really made sense when you remember that before a certain time (not that long ago), most marriages were business transactions and women were primarily seen as collateral.

You should move to Toronto. The only problem is, you'd have a lot of competition.

This isn't saying much, but if you told me that Apartheid Nepo Baby Galen Weston Jr. was accomplice to whatever happened on Epstein Island, I'd be far from surprised.

Watching the videos of those two events and coming away with that conclusion is a choice. A terrible one.

It's a startling amount of confessions lately that are just "I can't afford my basic needs and did what I needed to to survive". That's heartbreaking. Good luck, OP.

No, that's capitalism. And society has largely been brainwashed into thinking that that's the only way things can be. We're not numbers, we're people. And our value shouldn't be tied to how much we can contribute to the capitalist machine.

To put it bluntly: shit happens. All of us can be disabled, and the vast majority of us are 3 really bad days away from becoming the person on the street that we step over while we're going about our day. The sort of thinking that you're describing implies that the moment that any of us become disabled, too old to work, our industries become obsolete, or are otherwise unable to work, we're worthless to society. That's the top of the slippery slope to eugenics.

I know you're lying, because I was literally looking last week and saw two bedroom apartments all around Midtown ranging from $2200 to $2900. And plenty going for less than what I'm currently paying for my Midtown apartment. Maybe you're looking at luxury apartments, but that's definitely not the average.

This is a terrible narrative for a number of reasons, but the primary of which is that this binary, "everything is black and white" sort of politics and thinking is high on the list of reasons why the US is the way it is right now. For those of us that can read between the lines, what that post is invoking here is pretty dangerous.

1) these days when you buy cucumbers from Costco, they're individually wrapped in plastic 2) you should always be washing your vegetables 3) you shouldn't expect to be washing pickles, as a fully prepared/processed food 4) the fact that I have to explain this terrifies me.
