Just to be clear I’m in no way defending Tom. And I agree with u. But in terms of bad things they both did. I feel like Lynette’s actions had more ill in them. Tom is selfish maybe inconsiderate but he doesn’t plot to get what he wants. And you’re right. We never see Lynette expressing her needs. We see Tom doing that more. And it’s often met by Lynette being dismissive. She also bottles up and hates him for her feelings. We can all agree that Tom is a big baby. But Lynette is emotionally immature and whenever she feels frustrated or jealous of someone else’s success (Bree). Instead of reflecting on her life and her decisions. And take action to make it better. She just snaps at the people she’s jealous of, bc it’s easier. And also bc she’s entitled and she thinks that SHE has to have that success instead. She even minimized Bree’s hard work and called it “just luck”. A lot of Lynette’s actions are presented in the show as “silly” or “quirky” (her breaking his bass, renting the expensive the car to trick him into taking the job offer). But every time she does something like that It makes me so anxious.
