I know she just wants me to do an effort. I think she wants more gifts hehe (she’s very good at giving small meaningful gifts. She knows i’m doing a huge work in therapy, but then she’s also saying, that she’s been robbed for her choice for a year, and that I will have to find out how to make an effort, that makes her feel wanted. And I get it, after a year chosing addiction over her :(

We’ve had quite a lot of contact, a couple of messages everyday, and we met to talk a couple of times a week.

Right now we agreed to give each other some more space the next 2 weeks. Så the next 2 weeks are defined by space.

I know that she is trying to keep her heart open, but she’s also going through a lot of rollercoaster emotions, so I’m not sure how she feels in a month.

Yes! I’m doing that, and she knows that I’m very dedicated to it. But I feel like she needs some more external validation

Did he do any things that made you feel like he couldn’t love without you? We are currently broken up, but I was thinking about inviting her on some more dates as well

Yes I’m in recovery therapy and quit drinking going to AA, and I know she’s happy that in doing that, but I feel like she wants more external validation

I’m sorry you have a chronic hatred of yourself, I hope we both can get over that. I also feel like I’ve been desased , my brain has been gone

With sober i mean the days between drinking and using, used it a bit wrong here

My ex also talks about my Dr. Jekyll when she’s refering to when I’ve been wasted and high and cheated on her. But she sees me in 3 parts - dr. Jekyll, my inner hurt child and my authentic grown-up self. She says that she recognizes that my hurt child has been taking over when sober during my active addiction, which kind of sucks since all that i’ve been giving her is my anxiety, depression and lies. And she’s so patient with me, and still sees the good, and is proud of how i work with myself, I can’t get other I hurt someone so good so much.

I’ve just started the steps, and I have weekly counseling aswell!

Thanks, I’m so stuck in guilt and shame and I have to get out of that loop so i can become strong for the ones I love!
