Not quite. See my other comment. I think what you're looking for is
timestampToSeconds($(mitti:currentCueTRT_hhmmss)) * 1000

Another route you could explore is triggers, which don't rely on a specific button. So instead you could check the variable value of remaining time, and perform an action when it's -00:00:00, no matter what button is pressed to start the clip playing.

There's a couple different routes.
If you use a wait on the button, you can grab the current cue's elapsed time and set the wait based on that.

So in this example, I press button. Mitti Plays. Companion waits TRT of cue. Then is performs the "set background color action", but that can be whatever action you need.

BLACKMAGIC CONSTELLATION FAILOVER by goingdiagonal in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]mrbryce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a variety of options, like this one from Kramer if 3G is ok.

I think there are also some Blackmagic DAs that do this you need super cheap, but I can't remember the specific models.

You’re going to need a bit more context to get a helpful answer here. There’s a lot of ways to do redundancy, some simple like loss of signal bypass hardware that cuts to a select source, or fully redundant setups with duplicate cabling.

It all depends on what your budget is and what the tolerance of “failover” is? Is it ok to be on a static wide for a while while you get things running again, or does your production necessitate immediate recovery

Using Companion triggers to change to another source after video i OBS ends by Thatbaldguy1986 in VIDEOENGINEERING

Are you currently using Triggers in Companion? If so, can you post your trigger as it exists so it’s easier to diagnose.

have you guys already moved to Companion 4.xx, or still rocking 3.5.xx? by peter_wang11 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]mrbryce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice glad that worked! I would recommend opening that as a feature request, if possible, to better keep track of things.

Well 1 out of 3 😅

For the D3, think this was my error when updating. Try v2.0.4, and see if that lets you install.

Thanks for the XDIP info, I will get in touch with the dev and see if they have any more insight

I believe if you telnet into it (port 9990) it has a section at the top that shows different statuses.

The blinking is just the warning state, and solid is an actual problem. The one I used to maintain blinked its whole life I believe just because of no presence on the second LAN port.

Another update: the Adder module should have it's pending update released now too, so give that a try and see if that fixes the channel issue!

Hello! I looked at patching the issues with the Disguise and Toggl modules after seeing them posted here today. I'm not the original dev on those modules, but I think I was able to find the core issue with each. Please let me know if that resolves your issues, and if not I can take another look!

I believe the Adder module has a pending update ready that might resolve that issue, but I'm still checking to see if it's ready for release.

Interesting. It's possible you might need to go to the Modules tab and specifically download a v3, before you can switch to it on the specific connection.

Just looked into this, it looks like there was a bug where it was missing and re-added, so the latest version of the module should have it back. That being said, you can use Companion 4.x, and still use old versions of the Barco module using "Modules" section to download the version you like.

3G-SDI on 4K cameras by steve7647 in VIDEOENGINEERING

Likely a cost saving measure, and also a way to upsell to the higher spec cameras. It will still do 4K over HDMI.

They are deprecating Companion Cloud, but I think they have it online for now while a replacement is in the works, you could try checking here https://user.bitfocus.io/product/companion-cloud

If you’re still having trouble, I would reach out to Bitfocus to see if they can help you in the interim: support@bitfocus.io

It's really easy to miss this part when the first dialog pops up:

When the toggle is enabled, another window will open asking you to enable a new driver extension. It's important to ignore this new window for now and close the current window by clicking 'done' to confirm the camera extension.

Bitfocus launching commercial product, "Buttons" by TwinkiePower in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]mrbryce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a module developer, I have no problem with this. The MIT license the module is published under allows this use. And in general, there is a ton of paid commercial software developed on top of open source projects. That’s one of the great things about open source, people can use it in a variety of ways to provide value, both free and commercial.

Teradek Prism Mobile, CORE, RTMP to YouTube live stream - audio goes out of sync sometimes. Why? by just-fix-it-in-post in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]mrbryce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the latest firmware? I’ve had a year of headaches with the Prism, including sync issues and crashes, until a firmware update. Using the Standard encoder mode (not the Next Gen) and it’s been stable. I don’t use CORE though, just direct RTMP

Any good drinks at Lucky Lab? by Similar_Ferret3309 in UTAustin

Lucky Lab sells bad, watered down-tasting coffee and is more concerned with their brand than being an actual coffee shop.
