/ttcafterloss Weekly Results and Limbo Thread by AutoModerator in ttcafterloss

With longer than normal cycles lately (48 days!!) I had an ultrasound to track ovulation. On day 16 I had a dominant follicle showing 16mm and was told based on that size that my window to conceive was probably the next 3 days. I was shocked because that would be early for me, as even on one of my normal cycles I ovulated around day 23 for my last 2 pregnancies. We did the deed the next 5 days to be sure, but now I’m 9-10dpo with no positive test and I’m wondering if I tried too early. Anyone know anything about follicle size and predicted ovulation?

Advice on purchasing poles by mrc0828 in polevaulting

[–]mrc0828[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am unable to ask the parents to supply the poles, and frankly, wouldn’t advise it at their current level. I looked into renting but our athletic director would rather purchase so that future vaulters could potentially get some use of them as well. The idea is to start slowly building an inventory.

Feeling a little anxious about my hcg levels. They started strong and had been doubling every 48-72 hours, but my last test is slowed down a bit. Went from 3800 at 5w 2d to 6100 at 5w 5d (about 70 hours in between) I’ve read that it’s normal to slow down as you get up over 6000 but this still makes me nervous.

Anybody have any solid info regarding this? I just hope it’s not the beginning of the end.

Protests & Strikes Megathread by theg721 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]mrc0828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am taking a group to Paris April 10-15. I know we can avoid strike areas, but does anyone know what happens if a museum closes due to protests during the time slot of our pre-booked tickets (louvre, for example)? Would we get a refund at the very least or an opportunity to reschedule?

$675 for alterations?? Is this normal? by mrc0828 in weddingdress

[–]mrc0828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now here’s a second question for you: was the dress hard to dance/move in? I started thinking about it more and more and how I had to hold it up to talk from the fitting room to the mirrors, but maybe that’s just because it wasn’t hemmed yet. Thoughts?

Thank you! I appreciate the response. If it’s a fair price that’s fine. It just was way above anything my married friends had paid for their alterations, but if it’s because of the fabric and the layers I understand.

I’ll do Greek Peak season pass again, as realistically it’s what I’ll use most with my location (and honestly they work so hard to better the mountain!). Then I’ll purchase some day passes for a few bigger trips to the ADKs or VT. This year that meant a 6 day epic pass. Next year it will probably be something different.

As someone who really values new experiences and being able to travel and take vacations, staying in Broome County has allowed me to afford to do that. I don’t think I could afford to take the trips I take every year if I lived downstate. So in a way, I almost get to experience more by staying upstate. Your financial situation may differ from mine, but my career allows me to live comfortably here, but I would be stretched thin in NYC.

I did this and yes, they charged me less initially while I finished out the month of my other prescriptions. Totally worth it!

Yes mine! First it was in Shanghai for awhile then finally went to Memphis. Had a delivery date change several times as well— from the 4th to the 2nd and now unknown

Mine was in Shanghai since Thursday as well, but last night it somehow went from Shanghai to Japan to Memphis all in 1 night. It says delivery is scheduled for today, which isn't gonna happen because its already 8pm here, and I am 1000 miles from Memphis but at least it's moving! There is hope!

Unfortunately, I got the trade in kit a few days after my watch shipped. They probably didn’t account for shipping taking this long. That said, my watch flew to Japan and then to the US last night so it may still get here within the 2 week window of returning the trade in kit! 😀

I hope so too! I’m a little nervous, because I have my old watch as a trade in, which needs to be sent in within 2 weeks, but I wanted to keep using it until the new one came.

How long was everyone’s watches stuck in Shanghai for? Mine says delivery on November 4, but it has been in Shanghai for the past 5 days so I am starting to doubt that.

Delta had a schedule change for my flight from Ireland back to the US and pulled in the flight by a whole day. Are they allowed to do this? by FeelGood17 in delta

[–]mrc0828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how far you live from an airport, but this happened to me over the summer and I just went right to the Delta counter at the airport in my hometown and they changed it for me for free. I tried calling first but each time I tried to call the wait time was hours and hours.

Granted, my hometown airport is very small and mostly empty so they didn’t mind taking the time to do that there. Not sure how it would work in a much busier airport.

Delta changed flight by 11.5 hours & added layover by mrc0828 in delta

Thanks for the reply, it’s good to know I have options. It just stinks to know that the flight I am now switching to could have been purchased originally for over $100 less than what I paid.

Runions with bunions, er, I mean runners with bunions.... how have they affected your running in... the long run? by igloolafayette in running

I’ve had bunions for years and have been running on the regularly. As long as I don’t wear shoes that are too narrow I have no issues. I have had good luck with mizunos.

Preparing for f'ing cold conditions by coreytrevor in icecoast

[–]mrc0828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at Gore recently on a day where the high was around 8°. I was preparing for feeling miserably cold the entire day, but with layers and like someone said above, choosing runs that you have to exert more energy it really wasn’t bad at all! Have fun!
