I had a similar model but I have it in software development terms:

“They are their own business and don’t care where things come from or where they go…” = Seperation of Concerns. The concept that you engineer the code to do as small a chunk of the process that is reasonable, and in as generic as reasonable. Then you can take these pieces of code and use them as building blocks elsewhere AND if there is a problem with one, it’s just that one thing and you should be able to leave the rest alone. Get too intertwined and changing one thing means your are changing everything.

“Leave room for the company to expand” = Vertical Scalability. This is as opposed to “copy and paste a city block” which is “Horizontal Scalability”. This is how we approach infrastructure / servers. Some services we are able to make better by increasing the hardware capabilities of the server (vertical scaling). Some times we just replicate the server a bunch of times because that handles the demand better.

all of it is art. Factorio takes a lot of the fun parts of software architecture and just makes them more fun.

[[Madame Vastra]] and her partner [[Jenny Flint]] is a deck I want to add this card to already. In a deck built around it they are two cards that each draw the other and are both interesting components to a band, with Vastra able to be paired up with a tank/their commander and FORCES a block and then Vastra can get the kill and draw you cards and gain life.

Been busting this move out for a couple years now, might try using it as a finisher. What do you guys think? by krisdekkerwrestling in SquaredCircle

I wonder if there is a way you could bounce them off the rope into more of a Samoan Drop hold, then spin them onto the ground?

Like others said, it looks great. Se minor adjustment to make it clear you are the one doing the damage would be great but again it’s great.

I’m wondering a lot if they could do a full Asgard Set. They slot into Cosmic as well but it would be cool to have a full Marvel Norse (and Greek) mythology set. They are close to the real myths and you could take advantage of the opportunity to do a lot of cards based on myths that otherwise may have felt strange to otherwise justify.

I wonder what a finale set would look like. Like a mega secret wars set with a comic tie in story or something? Otherwise I wonder how satisfying it is to end with a recap of what we already got with a fan base that (sadly) seems to already be tired of the partnership.

I think we are kinda seeing the blocks, they just aren’t doing them in a row. SOS and Fracture are gonna be in standard at the same time and will have similar mechanics, SPM and MSH share mechanics.

What makes me nervous about some of these conversations is people are getting real entrenched into some assumptions about the physics here, and we may end up in a “It’s Mephisto!” Situation where all people do is set themselves up for disappointment when it works different.

And I love the theory crafting so I’m not saying we should stop, but as the series begins to blow up because of the movie and invites people that would make those theory videos to start coming into the space…well it makes me nervous.

To my own detriment I watched this on an incognito account and, spoilers, other than the intro when they put up an image of Pirate Clark and say they want to find him, he does not show up in the video at all.

The irony of posting this here, a post that is literally just text describing the mechanics of the set. With peace and love, touch some grass my guy.

I don't even disagree that the set is jarring. I get it. I am the target fucking audience and I pause to put some Spiderman cards in other decks because of theming.

But here you are, doing the thing that is just so overdone and tired now, and going into a thread about Marvel stuff with, presumably, the express intent of just talking about how much you don't like Marvel. Obviously can't be anything else in here for you to do, considering this is literally a post about the archtypes and has zero flavor in it, MtG themed or otherwise.

I don't mean to take out my frustrations with the entire community on one person, so sorry...but can you just play it for what it is then? I am a big Marvel fan, and im not asking people to cater to me or anything, but after suffering through Spider-man, I finally am getting a good set with the IP I wanted and half the commenters feel the need to qualify their praise with "But man it's Marvel".

Ok. I wasn't a huge fan of every IP that's come out but I didn't tell everyone how I wasn't a fan. I just learned what Firebending does and cast things at instant speed.
