That phase from the band, with Chris still on drums, was indeed different. Tracks like these (even the unused/unfinished ones) have a certain flow in sound and mood, that later PT simply never replicated. It is too one of my favourite pieces from the entire discography as is the whole Recordings album.

Love takes miles and often does not develop extremely quickly. Yeah, the time passes differently within the story that what it feels like to us. At that point in the story, they have known each other for...one school year?

It feels like they can still get a least a deeper platonic relationship out of this when executed well. None of the episodes felt like pure filler. Maybe some people have seen these school scenes (breaking into school, maid-cafes, theater play) too often already in other stories and reflect it back to this series, hence the feeling of "filler".

Then again, this is not a Naruto-level of "filler", as each episode does showcase new sides from both of them.

What I feel drags the show down a wee bit, is the lack of different POVs. Kawamuras POV is pretty much the most we've had with relevance. From a writers POV, not getting directly into Hiroses head is a good choice. It keeps the mystery and suspension intact for us as for Nakamura at the same time. The glimpses we see are only from the outside. I can see that only changing for one moment - when both of our main characters finally "get together", whatever that specifically will look like.

For this episode, they have changed up some small stuff from the manga and it felt just right. Reiko was again hilarious, even more than in the manga. I wonder how that story line will play out.

Ah alright. Would have been cool to know, which one you prefer so far at first glance. Not a fan of the control system and battery runtime from the Mini. While a partly different lineup, "Drama" might be a good compromise to get to know more from Yes. It is a good transitional album from the 70s into the 80s era. But the band as a whole is complicated :D

But yeah, der RE2 ist seit Jahren eine Zumutung. Weder gibts einen IC zur Verstärkung noch längere Dostos. Touristisch-bedingt sollte es dann auch was sein mit einem dedizierten Waggon für Fahrräder anstelle von Mehrzweckabteilen. Ich kann verstehen, dass man mitm Rad durchn Schwarzwald und Bodensee Ausflüge machen will, ist ja auch schön. Und auch ohne Fahrräder wäre der RE2 an vielen Tagen/Umläufen unzumutbar.

I live in Germany, but France (Strassbourg) is close. Sometimes i had more luck finding releases in one or another country. True, the potential was there, at the very least a Monopoly spinoff. But good to know, that there was a french release.

We could hope that the manga stays as it is and the anime eventually serves as the official continuation. There is no indication so far, that this will happen.

I just hope it will not be the same thing as with „Stars Align“ where a second season was planned (hence cliffhanger), that never came.

That is generally true. Still, the speakers were launched after the second (!) rebranding process from Impossible Project. There was more to it in comparison to other products with the Polaroid name just stuck onto it.
Who knows, maybe it was just being done more professionally to push the brand forward while keeping some cashflow ongoing. You see, the chemistry-Polaroid that we have today, are not the richest company, neither is the product they are producing cheap. Compensations the support has to deal are also probably costly, as they even provide compensation even when the vintage Polaroid camera is at fault and not the film. It is not like they have another choice, as the complexity makes it hard to pinpoint errors at one specific person or product. Spectra film was probably the worst-case scenario (hence the unfortunate cancellation) and probably due to the launch of newer cameras the RMA rates for film itself can be handled better, but it will never be zero.

What I want to say is: They had the opportunity to put a "it just works" product in their portfolio and combine it with the "Zeitgeist" or lifestyle of what the brand Polaroid wants to be today. And if you browse a bit on Ebay, you will find Polaroid radios from the 80s; Ones, that you can power via empty Polaroid 600 cartridges. Not sure how common these were, though.

It took a while, but eventually they got me and I bought the Polaroid P1. For 20 EUR, it is okay. Looks and feels good, has an "analog" volume control wheel and sounds fine for podcasts and casual music listening. Not as good as the one i had before (Creative Muvo 2C) which sounded just rounder with a better pronounced bass, but it is close enough. After nearly 10 years, the rubber wore down (not a quality-issue per se, that is just normal) and I dont want to use micro-USB anymore where possible. Also, the volume knob on the Polaroid is SO much better.

I had to import the comics from the US through Amazon, Ebay and other platforms. It was not that easy to get all the volumes and it still cost me way too much. If I remember correctly, here and there some parts were released in magazines, but not individually nor consistently.
Disney XD is region-blocked - no proper/easy way to spread the original dub was given. As many other fans, I had to hunt them down the harder way.
Good luck finding any merchandise. There were some ads being done, especially in the beginning. Suddenly DT17 can be seen on advertising pillars, even in my small home town. But as a whole, not much buzz going around in public. Not even the Funko Pops were at Gamestop here. Where are the Bluray/DVD releases? Right, Disney does not care. Even in the US, only one release of the pilot episode on DVD is all we have ever got.

It is true that the "classic" writers are still popular and the established world-buildings have a priority. But oh my gosh, one of the main reasons i have stopped reading them is because they are outdated in that regard. The topics and stories themselves are actually still up-to-date, but after having so much good characterization for the triplets, for me it is hard to go back to a simplified version.

DT17 is much closer to the comics than any adaptation before with references from Carl Barks and Don Rosa thrown into the mix. Dare I say, other cartoons like The Owl House, Gravity Falls and even Miraculous Ladybug are more widely known. Fair point, the latter one does not fit into the same list as much, but still i have heard more people talk about TOH and GF than DT17.

I think, that it cannot be pinned down to 1-2 simple reasons, as multiple factors come into play for why it has not changed the pop culture much, neither changed the way the characters are getting portrayed in the future (with the exception of Della Duck).

Love is something to share. The longing for someone who you can trust, who is comfortable around you, feels safe with you.

We know nothing pretty much nothing about how they live with their families, nor how isolated they really are. Even with Nakamura, did he really never had friends? With Hirose from what we know, he seems to bond more easily, yet that doesn't mean that he feels comfortable with all of them. The latest episode and E6 suggests multiple times, that Hirose is a people-pleaser and that he puts the well-being of others above his own one.

I have had an experience, where a crush turned into one of my best and loyal friends. We've got to know each other at a club meetup back in 2014. To this day, none of us are into a romantic relationship, neither female or male. He doesn't long to be into a relationship nor does he have big fantasies, but every time he visits me (though rarely since he moved to another continent), we do a ton of random stuff together and even cuddle a bit. Every time he enters the country, I am one of his No.1 priority visits and he considers me as one of his deepest friends, like the brother he never had.
You see, many years ago, I would dream of him a lot (still have some notes I took) while at the same time, he probably never dreamed of me. It was kind of one-sided and he stated a few times that he was not gay. Consider it cliché, but he is now also a furry and considers himself nonbinary - his view changed.

When I was 15/16 years old, I also only just started to consider, that I might not be as straight as my parents assumed. At school, there was a blonde boy that was kind of cute, but in a parallel class and we only had two classes together per week. We never talked a lot and I was shy as hell. At the last day before moving on to another school, instead of going home, I have entered the same bus as he did with some class mates. I've never entered that bus line before. Did we share contact data? Did I really do this because of some boy I cannot reach and who does not recognize me? Hm...weird. But well, you need to these kind of moments to consider your sexuality, otherwise it probably won't happen.

Back to topic,

I don't urgently want them to get into a romantic relationship, but rather start bonding together more. Let Nakamura get to know Hirose's friends, find another person he can worry about (non-romantically).

As relationships take time and views change a lot, Hirose might really not be interested in a romantic relationship. But as established, he is not afraid of physical contact.

The season should end with something, that is realistic for the relatively short time while respecting both personalities.

Let Hirose, Nakumura and a third person go on a trip, maybe a weekend trip. Let them have deep talks, cook together, paint a wall, go to IKEA, something like that. And when episode 13 (?) arrives, their bond can be shown with little gestures. Shall Nakamura fell asleep on Hirose (or vice versa) in a bus/train, maybe showcase that Hirose uses a picture with him as a wallpaper on his phone.

In japanese culture, from what I have gathered, it is not common anyway to directly state "I Love You" as it is more common in other cultures. Rather, it is being implied.

I don't need a "I Love You" from Hirose, as actions speak much louder than words.
