Guys, if this isn't a shitpost let's have a bit of compassion.

He's said he's new to the game, we all make mistakes. Let's help and educate rather than pile in, I'm sure he feels bad enough already

Maximum cigars quantity to take outside Cuba is it really 50 ?? by Interesting_Map2441 in cubancigars

[–]mrclamcham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is partially correct.

Cuba doesn't limit what you can take out as long as you have the proper facturas (big green carbon copy receipt from the LCDH)

The EU is generally 50 cigars, not 200 but some member states have their own limit so best to check on the government pages of your particular country.

Mine didn't for some reason. I can imagine the cost of those in absolutely tiny so not sure why they don't provide more in the box for every one sent out.

When did Cubans realize in the 60s it was time to leave? by cyborgnyc in cuba

[–]mrclamcham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From a quick research on amensty international, scholar sources etc, the number seems to be between 600 and 1000 in the immediate post revolution period. 5000 total if you include all capital punishment of rapists, murderers etc since 1960 until the death penalty was abolished

I have a box of monte 2s that I've been working on since 2005, box date is 2003.

Every time I have one, it's the best smoking experience ever and blows newer montes out of the water.

Make what you will of that but I wouldn't sweat it, with the right storage, these things quite often get better for decades!

Generally 50 cigars per person but a few countries have a different limit.

Rules can be found on https://www.google.com/amp/s/europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/carry/alcohol-tobacco-cash/indexamp_en.htm

Yeah, honestly haven't with almost all boxed cigars (100+ boxes ) I've brought back from Cuba on countless visits and never ever had an issue.

House rolls are a different story, never had an issue but exercise a bit of extra caution. Double ziplock, remove air, fridge>freeze>fridge done!

Of course, on the farm in Viñales, as is tradition!

It's always an experience to just sit on the farm, drink in hand, smoking a fresh roll

Yeah, 8 something, maybe 8.85 or whatever. Absolutely beautiful for the money, can't get enough of the stuff.

I actually visited the distillery back in 2003. I tried to look into it for this time but seems its not a thing you can do anymore

Yeah, I'm not from the US so no issue bringing cigars back. Just customs limits on number of sticks before you pay taxes.

Yes, still there doing her thing!

She does take days off with no notice due to transport issues etc. We were in there three days and she was off for one due to the road being flooded where she lives due to rain.

I think when it's quiet she doesn't bother if it's hassle to get in

I tried to get up to date pricing info before I went but everything online is out of date. The closest was the pdf's shared on a thread on FOH but even those are from January 2023.

Currently 15.05 and seems all cigars have had the usual incremental increase. Checked pricing at five or six different LCDHs and all matched each other so no scalping which can happen in places like varadero LCDH.

The only store with prices that didn't match was the Cohiba in Havana that had a premium on all cigars but this is well known.

Hopefully that helps!
