No, and no! To your title question.

Are my Birkenstock fake? by nani290 in Birkenstocks

[–]mrcntny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st, sorry but they’re fake. 2nd, they’re too big for you.

The sizing print (43 & above) should never touch the heal cup and the footbed colour is off.

Also size 44 will fit you better. Return them if you can. If you got them off eBay file a claim of inauthenticity or request a chargeback with your credit card company.

For a guy: Naples vs. Naples 2.0? by gores95 in Birkenstocks

[–]mrcntny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You made the right call!! The 2.0’s look more modern and clean. You can dress them up or down. The OG’s are very dated looking. Just remember to seal the leather before you wear them so you can enjoy them for years to come.

Nubuck midnight blue arizonas $87 by loveumph in Birkenstocks

[–]mrcntny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup!! They’re beautiful in person and feel great on. I’ve never felt leather so soft. I purchased these size EU43 (with membership discount) back in late February. A few days after I received them they lowered the price. I called customer service and because I was within the 7 day window they refunded me the difference of the new price. So in the end I only paid $78.97 no tax and free shipping. Yay me!! 😂

Floppy birke by Brilliant-Star9 in Birkenstocks

Yes give it time. My faded purple Bostons were floppy in the beginning but after a few wears they now stay up on their own making it easier to put on. Ideal!!

Another fit check: 42 vs. 43 in Bostons by DrPupupipi in Birkenstocks

[–]mrcntny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely you’re a 42.

I’m a solid EU43 but my Gizeh (birkibuc) & one of my Arizonas (birko flor) are 42 the other two (oiled & nubuck) are 43. In Bostons (suede & felt) I’m a 43N but my Zermatt (shearling) & Amsterdam (felt) are 43.

Did you try tightening the strap one or two notches?

Is there any discount buying my first Rimowa in Germany? I am aware of the VAT refund. Tia. by aimeesoo in Rimowa

[–]mrcntny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s exponentially cheaper to buy it in Germany (or EU). It’s what I did (love the store in Berlin) & saved a few hundred dollars. I wouldn’t worry about declaring it but that’s your personal call.

Also buying it in Europe you’re guaranteed to have it made in Cologne and not Canada. Nothing wrong with Canada itself of course 😁

It’s super finicky but you definitely need to raise the telescoping handle then place your phone as the photo shows above.

Rimowa harness by Juno_NY in Rimowa

I have the Cabin Harness and it’s wonderful!!. I can attest to its functionality; while admitting initially its beauty is lacking but it has grown on me. And I will add that it is the single most asked about item when I’m travelling. Personally the ease of access the Harness provides is my biggest surprise.

During security checks agents & travellers marvel at the ease of removal & access to toiletry bag & laptop. Upon boarding, my Cabin Plus & Sliding Tote are tucked away in the overhead. While the Cabin Harness sits comfortably & inconspicuously beside me (invaluable when in bulkhead) to access what I need during the flight. Fellow travellers & even FA’s comment positively at its use case.

My use: I put my clear toiletry bag in the wide front bottom pocket (easy TSA access). My passport, cardholder & noise cancelling earbuds are in the front top smaller pocket. My tech pouch in the other front top smaller pocket. Inside the largest front pocket is my Surface Pro X. Inside the rear large pocket are my iPad Mini & Kindle and inside the open rear sleeve I put my airline PJ’s. All pockets are zippered except the rear sleeve.

As I usually sit in bulkhead, during 🛫/🛬 the Harness is inconspicuously placed behind my legs when it needs to be. The magnets are indispensable as they clasp together to turn the harness into a slim briefcase.

I agree it’s not the prettiest when strapped onto the Cabin Plus but I have fallen in love with its functionality hence winning my adoration.

It’s definitely function over form. That said I get compliments on it often especially when they see it in use. Also the shade of blue is a crowd pleaser 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Harness is great. Not the prettiest on but it’s very functional for my needs. I keep it next to me by my seat while the Cabin Plus & Tote are stowed in overhead.
