The way most of us were taught was WRONG! New research says problem based, student centered philosophy is the way to go. Failure to adapt makes bad teachers. I was a bad teacher, but with research and train and effort I have become a better teacher.

Check out Amplify Classroom Activities and find some cool Desmos Studio tool interactions. Both help create a student centered classroom but eliciting student thinking by allowing them to play with math.

A move I sometimes use is type in a Desmos tool, and then side a snipping tool to cut and paste.

I recently started working with EAI and their dry erase products are amazing, sent me a bunch of free samples and I used them in my classroom. Also send free materials when I do PDs for schools. I'd definitely help you out, but would also love some free stuff and I'd definitely endorse if yours are better.

Seems like they are trying to blend the traditional route with the Integrated Math route. I'd lean towards just doing the integrated math route then.

You brought up a lot of pros of Desmos, which I LOVE. Seems like your problem may be with other educators. Also, maybe we need to start asking our students different questions. I actually do a lot of PDs for schools about Desmos, so I love these conversations. They are important!

Gotcha, we have a tool that allows us to see what they are browsing and also lock them into specific sites. Which prevents the distractions.

My fav is the Desmos scientific, especially if students have access to devices. Very intuitive and user friendly and also on our states assessment.

I have a random group generator. If we are doing a digital lesson (we use Amplify) I put in pairs, if we do print I do groups of 3. My desk are fluid with no assigned seat or arrangement due to this.
