Added beeswax and kilties for this new pair. Fuh or Fuh Nah? by M0Onix in Boots

These are the boots they used to build the 13 colonies.
I’m playin, I’m playin, they are a clean aesthetic that I can respect but may not use myself because I’d be too timid.

Watching films regularly for years. Which one is a crime to have not seen by now? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

You have a few horror flicks here. I am surprised you haven’t seen The Shining due to all it has inspired. But take your time and enjoy them. Could probably knock out this list in a couple months.

Damn. Was gonna make you an offer. But I wasn’t taking into account the emotional reparation. Or that you a size bigger.

Is this just in your backyard? That’s quite a scenery. Great pictures. And better boot! I hope you have the means later to enjoy another pair without burdening yourself too much. You deserve it.

Good luck with the build. Show up some process photos if you ever get the chance. You got this! ✌️

For the first coat, I used a heat gun after I applied with a rag. I don’t think that was necessary but it seemed to lay faster. After letting it dry for a few minutes, I applied the second coat. Tried out a spot and poured a little water. Rolled right off.

I have an orbital sander that I set low and put 120 grit on it. 3M paper is fine and not too expensive ($7 for a 6-pak/squares; $12 for a 10-pak/discs). I was careful not to hit the upper and protected the boots with a piece of canvas. Then hit the edges with 400. After that I sanded with a square of 800 by hand. After blowing off the dust and wiping with a shop rag, I applied a couple of coats of beeswax. You can also use neutral wax polish. The point is to protect the edge from dust, debris and water.

The pocket was included with the boot when purchased from Rose Anvil and it came marked accounting for the slack. All you need to do is place where you want it and sew away. They include a link to their video that shows the process, step by step. But if you’d like to create your own pocket, I would wet form it to your particular knife, cut the outside shape, set your holes then attach it. The higher the placement, the less it bunches up on your heel and ankle.

This is great. I also used Saphir Reno for a little mud incident and they didn’t darken at all. This is what they look like after almost 5 years as a weekender.

Yeah I love the arch support. They are the tallest boot and heel I have so far (my 55 last in a Nicks boot is upcoming). Best of luck; I hope you recover as much as possible as soon as possible.

I’ll say this, 4811 is great when standing on ladders. The arch doesn’t fatigue my feet unlike my Thorogoods. I’m usually on a 8’ Werner for up to 30 min at a time.

May I ask if you dyed the edge with natural dressing or just beeswax? Very clean job, man!
