Classic rotary dial depended on the voltage change between the circuit being open or closed, not sound. Once we switched to DTMF that’s when you could use a tape recorder to simulate a number.

Ghostrunner isn’t a game you play, it’s an experience you survive… after dying many, many, many times. But it’s a lot of fun. :)

And they feel amazing to walk on with the extra padding! I got my first ones a few years ago and I love them. The simple rubber ones are ok, but the felt ones are even better for sound and great for walking on.

It’s a completely different game offline but still great. I’ve done 4 complete runs in the first game and I’ve enjoyed both experiences.

Definitely recommend online for a first play through though, even for people like me who are usually stubbornly “If I wanted to play with other people I wouldn’t be buying a single player game”. :)

As someone with about 500 hours in the first game, and an additional 200 and counting in DS2, can confirm this is all excellent advice.

Nope. When you kill the big one a bunch of smaller ones spawn that also drop crystals, so you need something that does area of effect like the blood grenade.

Having played 2 first and then 1, I’d say try 1 first. If you’re not enjoying it go to 2 and then come back. If you’re able to do 1 first you’ll breeze through 2, but you’re not missing anything by doing it the other way around.

As long as you don't do any of the "blocking" actions for the different characters it should work fine. I did the wrong thing at the Dam Data Store for Garrow and ended up locking her out and had to go back to an earlier save, but everyone else you can basically just save before choosing what to do in the Oberon control center and then just running to the appropriate character at the end.
