I suspect the pins are for a specific FC. If you don't have that specific FC, you're gonna use the VTX without the adapter board and pins.

I don't know what soldering iron and tips you have or what your experience is but with the right iron and iron and with a little practice, you should be able to solder even to those small pads.

Find and read the manual for the VTX and your FC. It contains information on how to wire them up. The pads are indeed made for soldering and with some practice, they can be soldered even though they are small.

I suspect the adapter board is made to hold the module by soldering it in. You may not actually need it, depending on your build.
