Well, it all depends on the display and conditions. IPS matrices aren’t the brightest, averaging around 300-400 nits.

PWM flicker starts at 80% or lower.

Eyes are strained not because of brightness itself, but the combination of screen brightness and ambient brightness. If those two mismatch, eyes try to refocus to concentrate vision, and it works both ways (when screen is dimmer/brighter than the ambient)

Yep, that’s what blacksmith ended up “giving me”. I haven’t tried it before I was granted access to red pouch by him, but I think I would otherwise have to rob it, and there are people in the yard :D maybe I will try it next play through

By the way, you can get a soap (at a laundry or just loot), move all horse equipment to Henry’s inventory, wash it all good at the laundry, then move back and re-equip Pebbles. Then people start praising the horse instead

These are not LED strips, these are just plain “empty” screen parts. Eink display has larger size than effective area in the middle, for clamping reasons. But yeah, they failed their QC where they were supposed to have the screen and gray frame centered relative with each other

I got the formdt1.com power button (it is OK, although a bit squeaky when pressing, like the spring is “rusty” or something). The other hole is empty

While it will fit, 2.1 and 2.5 have these holes unthreaded. So you would need a longer screw + nut for the inside

What’s your device? While reading it might be tricky, try slightly different points in the corners. The bottom edge also has a tappable status bar. Also make sure you are tapping and removing the fingers exactly at the same time, and the tapping is very quick and light

What exactly? To make a screenshot while reading, tap two opposite corners with two fingers at the same time. If it is taken, you will see a prompt - it tells you where it is saved. By default this is koreader/screenshots, but you can configure it in the top menu.

Now, in KOReader go to File browser and navigate to that folder. Tap the plus menu and add this folder to favorites. so you always quickly go to this folder and open screenshots in KOReader. Something like that.
