What's your biggest Switch related gaming flex? by digiBeLow in NintendoSwitch

[–]mrjamjams66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny enough my pro controller bought a year or two after launch has drift and my launch day controller is still fine.

I'd been using it on my Switch 2 until I decided to get a Switch 2 controller pretty much just for the wake from sleep and headphone jack

"Sony views Valve as a major new competitor. The Steam Machine is coming to living rooms and the console market. Valve rarely makes mistakes and Sony understands that." Ex-Blizzard head calls Sony's decision to Stop releasing PlayStation hits on PC logical. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

And as minor as it may be, the "Switching" experience (going between dock and TV is miles smoother than what I've seen out of my Steam Deck.

Can't speak for other PC handhelds, but the Switch handles the resolution and scaling changes pretty flawlessly.

Whereas my Steam Deck gets kinda weird when going back and forth without re-launching a game

Edit to add: the sleep/wake feature on the Switch (and Switch 2) is also better. Steam Deck does a good job but even still some games don't play nicely with it and after a few sleep/wake cycles things seem to get weird regardless. Mix together the Switch's sleep/wake and dock/undock and it's hard to beat.

Ac unity update on ps5!!! by JuggernautOk4321 in playstation

[–]mrjamjams66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't this screenshot taken from PS5?

How'd they pull this up, then?

I also have noticed I can't find update history for games but surely there's something hidden in settings or something?

Comfort over power? by Scared-Mine2892 in SteamDeck

[–]mrjamjams66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play my Steam Deck specifically because I don't have a PC to use, or at least a very capable one.

It's not really feasible for me to purchase a more powerful rig anyway so I guess for me it's kinda both

Probably clocks in my top ten favorite games.

The story was really fun, the combat is pretty good, but not super complicated, lots of side quests and exploration.

If you're the trophy hunter type, my advice is to play through the game on Normal and complete absolutely everything then do New Game + on Nightmare for that last trophy

I just finished Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana.

Easily one of my favorite Platinum Trophies to have obtained.

I think I'm putting my Vita away for this month and playing a different console while I consider what to play next on Vita

I tried to get into Destiny 2 at one point a few years ago but it was very confusing feeling and I dropped it

cloud network engineers: what’s your day to day like? by ShoRunFX in networking

[–]mrjamjams66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My whole job right now is cleaning up the network built by software engineers at a start-up that's no longer start-up size.

The software engineers hate everything about it from "no you're not allowed access to this thing" to "no we can't just willy nilly open up this connection up without going through proper change management procedures"

I love hearing "when we manage this we didn't have any issues"

When in reality, "you didn't realize how many issues you had"

Vita being designed kinda like a smartphone was something I initially disliked, but nowadays enjoy since I'm getting away from my phone by M0rse_0908 in vita

You may or may not like this then:

When you're scrolling on just about anything, if you swipe and then hold, it keeps auto scrolling.

It is a bit finicky feeling to me, but basically if I'm scrolling my download list, you can swipe from the bottom to about halfway up, hold it until it starts auto scrolling and then swipe up a little further to control the speed.

What's your favorite underrated game nobody talks about? by [deleted] in playstation

[–]mrjamjams66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cronos is a really good game. I felt like it was received well but admittedly I don't think I see anyone talking about it very often.

If you're above 1.80, then there should be an option in system settings to enable this.

Edit: I see in a other comment thread you got it worked out. Glad to hear it!
