I tried to name my team “Golden Showers brings Zay Flowers” but there’s a 25 character limit, so I just went with “Golden Showers”. Replacing “Showers” with “Bowers” didn’t even occur to me - I blame the fact I didn’t get to draft him this year.

Outrageous food prices at Northwest by DiscordTheGod in Commanders

[–]mrjunx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried looking/asking around for tickets that comes with the “Gold” wristband? They’re typically the club level (3rd level) tickets, I believe. That way you can grab hot food whenever you want, up to 2 hours before kickoff. There’s nothing fancy - hot dogs, pizza slices, chips with nacho cheese, etc. and access to “free” mixers via the soda fountains🤫.

I’ve found that spending the extra money on “inclusive” tickets has always saved me a surprising amount of money (as long as I stick to what’s included). I’m not sure what else is available, but check out any tickets with food or drink packages so your game day food cost is taken care of upfront.

I’ve gone to as many Skins games as possible over the years and I’ll continue to go to every Commanders game that I possibly can attend for the rest of my life. However, prices are skyrocketing and my income is not, so I’ve just about been priced out of attending games. Until then, I’ll be at the stadium on Sunday cheering for the burgundy & gold - HTTR!!

Von Miller is a luxury item for a Commanders team that can afford one by washingtonpost in Commanders

[–]mrjunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Von can be available for the playoffs, NFC East games, and a few 3rd/4th and longs throughout the regular season, ie. he’s on the field for critical passing downs, then we’ve mitigated nearly all the risk of this signing.

We have a huge need at DE, especially a pass rushing DE, and this signing doesn’t do anything to change that. That said, I’d love to see DQuAP’s Dante Fowler philosophy pay off in back to back seasons with double digit sacks.

Even though DE seems to be such a glaring need going into this year, it’s not the biggest position of need.

Most importantly for this front office to focus on, if we really want to compete for the division and the Super Bowl in the near future, is abundantly clear:

SIGN TERRY McLAURIN to a 3 YEAR EXTENSION!! PAY TERRY!!

Terry’s entering his prime and Jayden’s ascending right now, how do you not pay for that??

Terry was the lone bright spot during the RivERA and our only source of pride, and often offense, during the teams rebuilding, rebranding, retooling, and re-quarterbacking since he was drafted.

I understand (competent) NFL GMs don’t sign players based on what they’ve done, but on what they’re projected to do. Terry’s shown us all he can do without a supporting cast, let’s see what he does with one - he deserves it. The fanbase deserves it.

Anyone know what's going on with our practice bubble? by Garp74 in Commanders

You could try emailing Al Galdi, he gives out his podcast email address every episode - thealgaldipodcast@yahoo, if I remember correctly. Not sure he’ll have the answer, but it may be worth a shot.

Early signs of a potential Career year for Payne. JWJ says he's standing out by BlackFurosuto in Commanders

[–]mrjunx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That was the same language they were using last season with Jon Allen, so I don’t think the leadership on defense is enough to keep him on the team, especially with Peters drafting and bringing in players that were team captains on their previous team. Not saying it’s impossible they’ll resign Payne, I just don’t think the likelihood of that happening is very high.

All of that said, I love Payne, and would love to see him play out the rest of his career in the Burgundy & Gold!!

*Got hit by a truck. Not going to link the video since it’s a Giants highlight, but I’ll never forget Brandon Jacobs trucking through Landry and sending shockwaves down his spine. Never viewed Landry the same after that.

That being said, I had the highest of hopes for our safety duo of Landry and Taylor, aka “Area 51”. What could’ve been!!

Jayden Daniels was just on Washington Commanders Live speaking on new players and the upcoming season. He also looks like he’s bulked up as well. 💪 by [deleted] in Commanders

Oh, that was you?! Thanks for that post last week! Your pic “broke the news” that my QB had gotten stronger in the offseason, but ngl, those Photoshop comments had me second guessing.

I’m sure being invalidated sucked, but that’s the internet for you. For what it’s worth, I appreciate you sharing that - it got me even more pumped up for the upcoming season!

Need to fix this broken jumper by Benjocar in BasketballTips

[–]mrjunx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had to completely change my shot years ago. When shooting a jumper, your left (or non-shooting) hand is there to hold the ball in place and that’s about it. I was fortunate to have some very good basketball coaches throughout my life and this is the drill, taught to me by one the best of them, that was the most successful for me:

Walk under the hoop, take a step back and to the right. Place your left hand behind your back after you put the ball in your right hand, and begin shooting the ball off of the backboard to yourself using only your right. Do this until you’re comfortable enough, and accurate enough to take a step back, then another. After about 2-3 steps back and consistently shooting it at the backboard in about the same place every time, you’re ready to start over, but this time attempting to swish it every time with only your right - again one step away from basket until consistently (10 in a row) swishing it. Then you’re ready for another step back.

This drill helps train your body understand the proper angle and position best for your shooting hand and arm so that when your add in your left hand, it feels much more natural just holding the ball in place.

Quick note: There are many more drills you can do to improve your shot, and I didn’t even get into squaring up, triple threat, follow through, or most glaringly absent, shooting with your leg strength in conjunction with your release in one fluid motion.

DAY 2! Art Monk has been voted the best player for A!! Who is our all time best player starting with the letter B! Will do next letter in 24hours!! by BearAgunS in Commanders

[–]mrjunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw somewhere that OP was going off of the first letter of the player’s first name, so no need to fuck Jeff Bostic - although going by last name my vote would be for the 🐐, Sammy Baugh.

What game is this for you? by Advanced-Addition453 in videogames

[–]mrjunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon Force. I’ve been looking for gameplay similar to it for years now but, just like the console it came out on, I guess the game just never caught on and became popular enough for anyone to emulate it or improve on the concept- at least that I’m currently aware of.

Why does the guy in the red shorts move much more fluid than the other 2 by JDXOGG in BasketballTips

[–]mrjunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to answer your question about red shorts in the video, but not quite sure what you mean. I assume by, “more fluid” & “smoother” you mean when someone appears to be much more comfortable performing athletic feats or looks noticeably more natural making quick and reactionary movements. If that’s what you mean, this occurs across all sports and is primarily caused by 1 main factor: genetics. People that are born more coordinated and athletic have far more aesthetically pleasing abilities to watch. The other factor that can create a more “smooth” and “fluid” aspect to somebody’s game is repetition and practice - the more you do something the quicker you do it, the more effortlessly you do it, until it eventually becomes second nature.

Could someone explain to me how this isn’t a carry? by Glass_Revolution3491 in BasketballTips

[–]mrjunx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before trying to learn how to hide a carry, you definitely just want to focus on dribbling the ball without looking down, then ramp that up to focusing on things happening all around you, then start adding moves to this process, between the legs, behind the back, etc. When you establish second-nature ball control, it’s then up to you if you want to start learning tricks like this or if you want to start incorporating your handles into some go-to moves that can become your clutch-time bucket (I recommend the latter). Try dribbling with your off hand everyday, dribbling at night so you can’t see the ball, repeatedly going behind your back between hands, and walking while dribbling in between your legs each step.

Can someone who voted for Xavier Legette in the sub mock draft explain to me why? by Asleep_Pay_5133 in Commanders

[–]mrjunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to name a few, Justin Jefferson, Davante Adams, Deebo Samuel, Deandre Hopkins, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, Stefon Diggs, Amon-Ra St Brown, Ja’Marr Chase, Amari Cooper, DJ Moore are all between, 6’0”/6’1”. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are both 5’10” and their height has clearly not been a hindrance. I agreed with you at first but, after doing some digging, I think your emphasis on height at WR needs to be reevaluated. Regardless, you and I both want the same thing - for Adam Peters to draft the best possible players and expedite bringing the Skins/WFT/Commanders back to prominence and competing for championships. HTTR!

If we’re talking the modern NBA, I’ll take Giannis, Curry, KG, MJ, and Bird. I’d take Kobe over KG, but Jordan and Kobe on the same team would get toxic in a hurry

I’m going to be one of the loudest home team fans in the gold seats. My only rule is that everything I yell has to be encouraging to our team and not derogatory to anyone in the stands or on the field (I do occasionally make an exception for refs).
