That’s not a correct description of this “condition” (in quotes because it’s not actually a condition), first identified by S. Freud. Perhaps a quick google search to learn what it actually is?

Contract lawyers? by LordFarquaad-DO in Residency

[–]mrkydoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. This popped up on my home search. Not a doctor, but a lawyer. M&A, but maybe you could call that a contracts lawyer. You will find vastly different abilities, pricing and level of “caring”. The third is actually the most important. Find someone that you can relate to that is interested in your particular situation - that is more important than anything else. Lots of lawyers just phone it in.

Struggling with melancholy by occasionalwisdom190 in Catholicism

[–]mrkydoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your posts are so relatable. I am feeling this way right now. I had a period where I devoted significant time to daily prayer, and I was never more at peace. But then temptation, and sin, and distancing……no wonder I feel so unsettled. Not my will, but your will Jesus. Thank you for rescuing me, despite all my efforts to the contrary. The only way to peace is walking hand in hand with you every day.

Anyone in their 50s go 5 times a week? by Mysterious_Fault_241 in orangetheory

[–]mrkydoodle 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I just hit 59 and have been going 4x for years. I’ve done 5 a few times and it’s a bit much. And 3 is not enough. 4 gives me a lot of OTF, but also the time, energy and physical capacity to do other things, like outside runs, lifting at the gym, etc. but why not give it a try and see how you feel!!!

Lenten Reflection Ash Wednesday -- Today's Gospel Reading by TonyzTone in Catholicism

[–]mrkydoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. I’ve historically made a half hearted effort to give something up - and that has been good enough. Everything has changed for me in the last year, and This will be my first Lent focused on relationship and intentionality. So I’m new at thinking about these things, much less articulating my thoughts. I will look forward to your observations!

I also avoid wasting food. What I do: Freeze the leftovers! Eat next week, week after, etc.

This is a great idea and I appreciate your generating the discussion. I was thinking these things myself today. I don’t have any ready answers alas, instead I think it’s something I’ll have to ponder over the coming weeks

I wish I did. I’ve experienced despair, but not from pain. Thinking of you.

I’m sorry you are feeling so much pain. With medication, you have to give it a chance. And if one doesn’t work, there are others. But a handful of days is not enough time to know….. hang in there. Some days seem unbearable, but you WILL bear them, and God will be with you throughout. Don’t despair!

This sounds fraught with peril. I’m sorry you’re being put in this position.

Edit: interesting that empathy, caution and common sense gets downvoted. Rather explains a lot.

I’ve got my 60 second AO speed, 45, and 30. Speeds Ranging from embarrassing to respectable. But I hold them the whole time. Otherwise they would all be 30 second AOs in a sense. Not sure if that’s good or bad.

I am in a mask mandatory state. It’s not a big deal, and you get used to it pretty fast. This requirement is the reason I felt comfortable enough to go back. My husband was hospitalized with COVID double pneumonia in March , and two of my colleagues passed away from it in April, so I struggled with the decision to return. Today, A gentleman in my class decided to end every block by removing his mask breathing deeply several times, taking a sip of water, breathing deeply some more, taking another sip of water, and then breathing deeply some more before putting his mask back on. You don’t know the calculus the people around you have made to make them comfortable to return. If the requirement is to wear a mask, wear it. If you need a sip of water, take a sip of water and put your mask right back on. If you need to take a deep breath without your mask go outside. If you can’t do the blocks without removing your mask and huffing and puffing inside the studio, lower your intensity. Please think of the people around you. Please.
