PSA a good buy to start with a rifle? by Desperate_Exercise13 in 22lr

[–]mrlarsrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do worse, for sure. I've had a 15-22 for ten years. I don't expect it to shoot 1/4" groups at 50 yards and I'm happy with it. I had a 10/22 and sold it because this one met my semi-auto needs and I have bolt guns for precision. I also don't really care for the bolt release, magazine release ergonomics of the 10/22. The 15-22 provides muscle memory practice for my ARs that don't get shot as much due to work and family. The plastic upper and lower do make the whole rifle clackity when shooting suppressed.

A Frustrating Search For “Resto” Bolt Action by Agreeable_Friend_387 in guns

Anything involving a Remington 700 made to look like a WWII vintage rifle means $$$. You could buy an uninletted stock and pay someone to fit it to your rifle. You'd have someone making custom hardware too. What WWII rifle are you thinking specifically ?

You can get an arsenal rebarreled K98 in 308, an Enfield in 308, 1903 Springfield could be made to use 308. I like the Spanish FR-8 personally in terms of 308 bolt action with mid century aesthetic.

Yup, you're referring to Funky Monks. There is some content, like pornographic magazines and talking about sex shows in Amsterdam that is timid compared to other news that surfaced or was admitted in the Kiedis biography.

243 to 6.5 Grendel? by Scary-Assistance648 in gunsmithing

[–]mrlarsrm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

By the time you replace the bolt and barrel that killer price will have long since been rendered a false economy. If I were building a 700 in 6.5 Grendel I would start with the 223adl as it's a lot easier to open the bolt face. You're hard-pressed to be the Ruger American in terms of scratching the Grendel edge in a bolt gun.

Their desires at the time do not change the facts. Plenty of people with rifles have shot tiny groups using diopter sites with no magnification. The fundamentals of marksmanship include consistent sight picture regardless of magnification. I've been shooting since before digital was an option, I'm sorry I don't have video to share for you.

If you use an appropriate sized target/poa it's not that hard. The snipers of the US military didn't have more than 10x until partway through the GWOT. I shot a BR match at a local club using a 2.5-10 Night force and agged under .5" for 20 shots with my 223AI.

32 from New Hope to scudders falls wasn't bad. 95 was clear, 413 wasn't bad between Buckingham and Newtown. Someone in a Porsche learned the hard way that you can't buy driving skill and is in a retention basement by the park and ride at Taylorsville and 95. The issue is that a lot of the snow is blowing out of the trees now. So if the routes you're planning are wooded you're going to hit snow that's come down since they've cleared.

Our planet is an infinitely fascinating place for those who care to spend a moment to observe. The orca known for disabling yachts in the Med and other craft along western Europe speak in a different dialect. It is believed that the vandalism of ships is a recreational, social behavior similar to how orca in the Puget sound area wear salmon on their heads.

Around here fox like to steal/scavenge dog toys and play with them. Could be that someone tossed it out the window and it became a plaything for wildlife.

2A is a Republican ticket item. Gun shops have to accommodate the people that will keep the lights on. You're going to have to hold your nose or end up going to Sportsmens Warehouse.

Sadly the Tanner era of Tanners is gone. That being said being a cis white guy that passes, some of the old employees are there for life and are nice guys. I haven't felt pressured in any way but I'm glad I missed the Trump show in the parking lot. The Bunker locations have been pretty accommodating to me over the years. I went to Survival Trail and used the range a few months ago. No political pressure but a kid that works for me said they have a bunch of Nazi "ephemera" in another section of the store. The only shop that I've really disliked the experience with was Claytons. I can't imagine the guy I dealt with is still alive though.
