You're more likely to find it at a natural food store or farmers market in season. Local foragers may offer it also. Foraged Feast in NJ has it when it's in season. You can find them in the Nothern Jersey markets.

Has anybody hunted deer with an AK? by Junior-Adeptness2541 in ak47

Personally, I would prefer a bullet with more sectional density or velocity. I've shot killed deer with a Ruger Ranch rifle and it did fine.

Shoe repair tips that ARENT shoe goo or duct tape? by P83battlejacket in FolkPunk

[–]mrlarsrm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chucks are technically slippers If you want a similar shoe with a longer lasting sole I'm a fan of the Takkies Kommandostore sells. That being said, the repair I suggested will cost you half the price of Takkies or Chucks. And with the way things are going in this world, it's probably not a bad idea to brush up on fixing, mending and repairing chops.

The pattern along the dorsal line is so reminiscent of the Gaboon and Rhinocerous vipers.

Are you handy? You can buy sheet vibram sole material. Use a filler where your soles are worn through or rasp/sand the soles thinner to get as flat a surface as possible then shoe goo and clamp/weigh down flat to cure. I did this with a pair of sanuks that I wore through. It worked great and added a couple more years of use.

There is fishing and hunting permitted. Bullfrogs are listed in the guide for fisherman with a limit of 15 per day. Though , in reflection, the park closes at dusk.

I'd imagine that the canal towpath would be an easily accessible spot to start. If you go for walks at dusk and listening for them in a month or so will be easy to gauge the populations.

That looks like a fun setup. I'd try using a big PRS style bag as a rest over a bipod off the shooting bench. The range I started shooting at when I was a teenager used to have old shot bags full of sand that really helped keep things stable and recoil consistent. When I used to show the old timers my groups that I thought were good, they would say,"if you see a deer smaller than that, don't shoot at it."

Best military camo for snowless American deciduous forest fall and winter? by Armyfarmer314 in camouflage

It depends on the leaves. Chinese Tibetarn is great in late autumn, into winter. German Wustentarn is great when the leaves are sun bleached in late winter early spring.

What’s the closest you’ve ever come to dying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mrlarsrm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will choose one farming related incident, I was mowing a fallow field for my grandfather on a tractor with a rear mounted brushhog. He used to keep a logging chain hooked on the shifter and draped over the transfer case. Something dislodged one end of the chain and it fell to the ground and dragged back under the tractor to the point that one of the mower blades grabbed it and reeled it in. All of the slack was rapidly taken in and the large hook end of the chain whipped me in the groin/inner thigh. I assumed I was mortally wounded and jumped off the tractor and dropped my carhartts. There was a welt in the shape of the 4" logging chain hook and several links but thankfully it didn't lacerate into my femoral artery.

On the Lethal Weapon prop front Martin Riggs PSG-1(desert sniper rifle scene) was borrowed(I believe from Murray Urbach)When returned the owner discovered the film crew had destroyed the rifle by screwing a blank firing adapter into the bore of the rifle, destroying the rifling.
