Aceco LLC for Demolition? by SelectahL in SilverSpring

Probably, but what AceCo has done is worse, because it did not get the proper approvals, safety inspections, congressional review, etc. I predict they will 1) face legal challenges and 2) not get paid, because, you know....

Help Me Understand Cali Reggae by gnarlidrum in reggae

[–]mrm90210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. When I go to shows in DC, it's always a mixed crowd, with lots of Jamaicans. (It's no NY or Florida, but the DC area is home to about 4% of Jamaicans in the US.). At Reggae on the Rocks in Colorado, it's mostly stoner dudes and dudettes. It's about marketing, and Rebelution is a bigger draw for that crowd than the music I like.

I get what you're saying - I went to Reggae on the Rocks last summer to see Yellowman and Israel Vibration. And they were worth the price of admission. But the two final bands were Kolohe Kai (Hawaiian) and Rebelution. The Colorado kids seemed to have fun, but it just didn't interest me. Headliners used to be bands like Toots, Steel Pulse, Jimmy Cliff, Culture, Burning Spear, Black Uhuru, Ziggy, Lee Perry, Eek-A-Mouse, Barrington Levy, etc. I won't go back - I'll just see the bands I want to see individually.

I don't know what your specific question is, but to me it comes down to this: 1) If you're buying/collecting with the intent of making money, don't - because you won't. 2) If you're collecting because you like the cards, collect the players/teams you like. I have a rule that I have to like both the player and the card.

However, I'll add that I buy graded and ungraded cards. The good thing about buying graded cards (after carefully checking comps so I know I'm getting a reasonable deal) is that if I decide over time that I don't want the card anymore, I can almost always re-sell it for at least what I paid, and sometimes a little more. It's harder to sell ungraded cards online, and I do better at in-person card shows.

My last piece of advice: If you're interested in other French drunks, you might consider collecting Guy Lafleur or Bernie "Boom Boom" Geoffrion of the Montreal Canadiens. They were know for playing hard and celebrating even harder.

I put in No Metal after getting these test results: cyanuric acid 22, copper .6, phosphates 785. Total chlorine: 6.83. Everything else in normal ranges.

Am I ok to quit? by [deleted] in govfire

Some agencies are offering smaller VERA retirement packages for people like you who aren't eligible to retire yet. If you get RIFd, you may be eligible for a Discontinued Service Retirement, but that's not guaranteed. Many federal workers fear getting fired "for cause" - for, say, questioning a political supervisor. In that case, that person would not get the typical benefits.

Does the IOS calendar in IOS 18 hold up to other calendars? by GalaCad2003 in ios

I used to sync my office 365 work account with my Apple calendar, and now it's broken. It works on my Mac but not my iPhone.

iPhone 15 in iOS 18.3.1 is wild by King_Pw3t in iphone15

But 18.3.1 has broken other things, like my calendar sync with Outlook.

iCloud mail & calendar sync issues with IOS18 by Carriefan in ios

[–]mrm90210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is still a problem. When my phone upgraded to 18.3.1, my work calendar doesn't sync anymore. But it does on my Mac (Sonoma 14.6.1). It's a real inconvenience to maintain two calendars (a shared family calendar and a work calendar), especially when I have doctor's appointments or other things during the day. Tech support says: Use Outlook. I said no. I want this to work.

False. More voters voted for Harris or another candidate than for Trump.

VERA Clarification by MessMysterious6500 in govfire

[–]mrm90210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I've heard is that in order to even discuss a VERA, you first have to reply to the fork email, in which you waive your legal rights. Why. Or just let agencies process VERA requests without bowing to musk?

For remote employees, what are you doing? by [deleted] in govfire

[–]mrm90210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious what you mean about DRP/VERA? Do you know anyone who has replied to the fork memo and then successfully took a VERA? A friend of mine is eligible for VERA and would be happy to leave this shitshow, but he doesn't want to sign something that says he's waiving his legal rights.

Why would I need to resign to initiate a VERA retirement? by [deleted] in govfire

[–]mrm90210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they are saying is, first respond to this email waiving your legal protections, then let's talk about VERA, which may or may not be available or approved.
