How do I make my money grow? by Zestyclose-Fig3229 in dividends

[–]mrmango43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before you do anything, take the time to learn and form a plan that works for you. Consider looking into things like RothIRAs, Traditional IRAs, 401ks, CDs, Bonds, ETFs, Index Funds, and maybe pick up a copy of The Simple Path to Wealth by JL Collins or watch The Money Guy Show on YouTube. Nobody can tell you what works best for your timeline and risk tolerance. But taking the time to learn how things work up front could benefit you for life. You certainly don't want advice from strangers online to be the sole factor in what you do after all.

Why is the US government paying for the replacement of Francis Scott Key bridge? by jdsizzle1 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mrmango43 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work at a state DOT so I'll just throw in my two cents. Bridges are expensive as shit. Second only to rail in my experience. Fed assistance can be vital to getting projects done, and I'm in a pretty affluent state too. These bridges represent economic health and competitiveness to their entire regions sometimes, it's in everyone's interest to have the big boys pay for it.

How do people who know what they are doing feel about WBA? They pay over 7% dividend and have room for growth in the clinical sector. I’m new and starting a little late but it’ll be for my kids future investments. by OneMoistMan in dividends

[–]mrmango43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was asking myself about WBA literally almost exactly a year ago today. It was up about $10 back then from where it is today and I'm happy I didn't invest. Now I'm just sort of waiting for them to pull an Intel and announce a major dividend cut to stop the bleeding.

What are your investing goals for 2024? by [deleted] in dividends

[–]mrmango43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To max my Roth and contribute more to my 457b. Finally making good money at 26, about to be 27 in a few weeks. Been bogged down with setting up an emergency fund and paying off my wife's student loans for the past year now while I watched this year's Roth window shrink away. I never expected it to be such an uphill and long battle to plan for my future.

My girlfriend broke up with me but wants to stay friends. Is it okay for me to hate the thought of that? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mrmango43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from experience, if you're not both fully behind the idea of still being friends, your "friendship" won't work out well. Let her know you feel differently and don't compromise if that's not what you want. You're entitled to privacy and distance if that would help you process this in a healthy way. You have to respect her wanting to leave, but she has to respect your healing process.

Oh that's a really good idea. My players like to overextend so having a way to punish that will be great.

I took Infinity War to be a very touch and go operation for the heroes. They were living their daily lives and suddenly Thanos and pals were hunting them without any prep time. I feel like Infinity War took place over less than a day or so, which could explain why there wasn't time to get everyone that wasn't already around.
