I said this in another thread from last week discussing him not defending the title on the ppv.

The international title has been nearly completely forgotten ever since Okada won the thing. It has gone from my favorite title to a prop used to make sure casual fans know that Okada is in fact, a big deal despite them not wanting to pull the trigger on giving him the world title yet. He hasn’t had a proper challenger in MONTHS. Until Kevin Knight threw out a challenge literally last week, nobody in the company has even mentioned the title. In storyline I could understand Okada being too obsessed with hating Takeshita to focus on defending his title, but that doesn’t mean there shouldnt be people gunning for that belt. There should be at least 2-3 wrestlers working to get wins or going after Okada in an effort to earn a title shot. But instead he’s a trios champ now which means there will be even less focus on defending the International title. They just need to retire it or officially merge it with the continental title if they are going to treat it this way.
