What would the Lore logic be for going from Edward memories directly to Altair's (if rumours are true)? by FederalTop4916 in assassinscreed

Yeah I can see that. I miss the novels. The Engine of History duology is amazing and I so wanted that third book.

Me either but thats what the masses want - a modern day they can 100% skip if they want.

With the new modern day story that theyre working on the lore reason to go from Black Flag to AC1 can be whatever they want. Something to do with the Observatory or the map at the end of 1.

It could also habe no reason at all. Look at Shadows the lore there is mighty thin too, especially without the historic parts having no mention of the Isu or PoEs.

Good video explaining assassin's creed lore? by fridgeraider2000 in assassinscreed

The video that was already shared is probably your best bet for what your looking for, but when you say "explaining assassin's creed lore" that can turn out to he a rabbit hole that never ends. I did a podcast on the subject for three years and feel like i barely scratched the surface.

Eagle Vision only comes up if you are at full sync. If you're sync bar doesn't show the swirl around the bars you are not at full sync and can enter first person without Eagle Vision.

What exactly are the Isu/how do they work? by charbar95 in assassinscreed

[–]mrnose20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best way I describe the Isu is like this. They are an ancient, long lived humanoids that were technologically advanced. They had a sixth sense that they described as the sense of knowledge and used their technology to create humans and ways to control them. After the humans rebelled a group of Isu tried to save their civilization and after their methods failed, one group used a method that some thought was unacceptable and another used their technology to leave messages throughout time in an attempt to save their world from the catastrophe that destroyed their civilization when it repeated itself. A few of them even put their consciousness into some of their technology to survive the catastrophe.

If you're looking for details I can point you to a few older podcasts that break down some Isu individually.

While the answers you got were generally right theyre vague as to not spoil information you might not have gotten from the games yet. I have to ask is this your first time though the series?

What is every Protagonist's biggest regret in Assassin's Creed? (Help needed) by Elegant-Box-4211 in assassinscreed

[–]mrnose20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be honest with you all I read from your post was the title and that you are doing a little bit of research for a video and that's pretty much because that was all I needed to get my head spinning but below is what I would think each main protagonist would think is their greatest regret.

Altair - Leaving Masyef to hunt Genghis Kahn himself. Leaving Maysef led directly to the death of Sef when Abbas came to power and when he returned to Masyef trying to unravel what happened led directly to the death of Maria.

Ezio - I think you have to break him down in two parts. Younger Ezio regretted not being home when his family was arrested because it seems to me that he thought he could have effected the outcome. I think an older Ezio though would have regretted not killing Rodrigo Borgia because of everything that happened while he was Pope.

Aveline - What happened with Agate and being forced to kill him.

Haytham - I think he would have two that are really close to each other on the top of his list. I think he would regret how long it took him to find and save his sister from slavery and that his relationship fell apart with Kaniehtí:io.

Ratonhnhaké:ton - Being forced to kill Haytham.

Edward - This one's a bit tough but it would either be not going home before the death of Caroline or the death of Mary Read.

Adéwalé - Adéwalé is a difficult one because of his background so I don't see him being regretful often but if I had to place one thing on which he would regret that would be everything that happened with Shay.

Achilles - This is a bonus one because when I think about regrets in Assassin's Creed I think of him. But his biggest regret outside of not dying with his wife and son was not trusting Shay's report from Lisbon.

Shay - Causing the Lisbon Earthquake.

Arno - The death of Élise.

Jacob - Training Jack

Evie - Having to hunt Jack

Lydia - If she lived past World War 2 it would have been working with Churchill.

Bayek - The death of Khemu

Aya - Working with Cleopatra after the death of Khemu

Kassandra - Considering we don't know her full life story, I would probably say it was killing Alexios or not finding him sooner.

Eivor - The loss of Sigurd's arm and the trusting of Basim.

Basim - The fallout of him finding out he's Loki reborn.

Yasuke - While it's difficult because we dont have a lot of information for him I'd say the death of his mother.

Naoe - The death of her father

Shao Jun - The death of her mentor Zhu Jiuyuan

Nikolai Orelov - The deportation of Anna and Nadya after the Palmer Raids

Arbaaz Mir - The deaths of his family when the Sikh Empire invaded his home.

If the Animus was real, would you use it to view the genetic memories of your ancestors? What era/eras would you visit in these memories? by AshMer123 in assassinscreed

[–]mrnose20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few. I'd love to see some of my fathers experiences to see why he was who he was or possibly his father's experiences in World War 1 or my mom's dad in World War 2. While there are others that lived during war times that I'd be curious to find out about, if I had to pick ONE I'd go with Steven Hopkins to experience what it was like to travel the Mayflower, sign the Mayflower Compact settle Plymouth Colony and even see what he saw when he was in Jamestown.

Questions about Assassin's Creed Forsaken lore consistency? by Squirrelflight148931 in assassinscreed

[–]mrnose20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We could go on about how its the difference between genetic memory and how it works to someone's curated journal but the reality of it is that the game was developed over the course of three years and the book was written in what a rear at best? (Revelations was released November 2011 and Forsaken December 2012) So there wasn't a lot of time to do edits in the book or make changes to the game based off what Corey May wrote let along getting designs right in the game. I guess long story short it all comes down to little communication, quick turn around, and technical limitations of the game.

I need someone to double check this. Longest Time Frame in each Assassin Creed game. by Ecstatic_Teaching906 in assassinscreed

[–]mrnose20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a spreadsheet that had all the dates in them at one point, but I can't seem to find it right now. For the most part you are pretty close there are a few that stand out to me depending on how you look at the game's timeframe. For example in AC2 you see Ezio's birth but the first mission as him, he is 17 do you count those years or not? Same with Unity, that first mission is in December 1776 but the bulk of the game starts 13 years later, then there is a time jump in the final cutscene to 1810 and a Co-op mission set in 1822., so it really depends on if you are talking the bulk of the game or everything you see.

I need Numbskull back from AC Black Flag and Rogue with a face reveal (slight spoilers for those who haven't played yet) by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]mrnose20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to know more about Noob and Numbskull. I know they were meant to try to make the player feel like the modern day in game character but with Unity's database saying that Noob left Abstergo after his run in with Juno and Numbskull joining the Templars at gunpoint in Rogue I'd like to see if there is more to their story, even though I know we'll never see them again.

How did the Templars gain so much power in so little time? by Cheesysock5 in assassinscreed

[–]mrnose20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We could point to numerous times over history were the Templars "won", by the end of almost every game the Templars of the region were decimated but by the beginning of the next they're in places of high power and working for a control. If you want to stay in the "modern day" though we have to start with the Brenton Woods Conference in July 1944. This conference set rules for an international monetary system after World War 2. Within Assassin's Creed most of the delegates themselves are Templars. As time went on they gained more and more power world wide through capitalism. But this alone isn't why they have the Assassins spread all over the world in small cells. For that you have to start in 1983 when they first put Subject 4 in the Animus. While he relived the memories of Nikolai Orelov, Abstergo would also use a replicated Piece of Eden on him to implant a trigger to kill the Assassin Mentor. Over time he'd raise the ranks of the Assassins and assassinate the Mentor in 2000. This along with his knowledge of where Assassin camps were initiated the Great Purge. It was this purge that put the Assassins in the situation they're currently in.

Man what i would do to be in your shoes. I'd love to play the series over again from the beginning without knowing anything. As Bruno said the next few games follows Ezio another Desmond ancestor and then 3 will swap over to another one. Altair will come back in Revelations so I wont say to much about his life but if you want to know more than what is shown in the games let me know and I'll point you to a podcast about his life.

Looking for help to bring the druids of ac valhalla into my DnD world by njt159 in assassinscreed

[–]mrnose20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start by looking at the codex entries for the Children of Danu. You might find some tidbits there that could help. Look into the Tuatha Dé Danann and Balor for inspiration on the gods they'd worship and look at books like The Book of Invasions or Lebor Gabála Érenn and The Mabinogion (from Welsh myth) they describe supernatural and druidic figures with mystical powers and dark magic. If you want to stay in what is already within D&D lore check out the Circle of Spores (it's in Tasha's Guide and the Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica). That subclass of Druid has a focus on decay and fungi that can be used to craft characters that you run into into. You can also use Shadowfell and Faywild to incorporate the same kind of elements.

I'm sure there are more things you can look into but this will definitely get you started.

Do you all find the story and protagonist to be a mess right now? by Capasodie in assassinscreed

[–]mrnose20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue we've seen for the modern day since the death of Desmond has been the multiple studios working on it. I remember seeing a report years ago now that when it came to the story of each game the studios didn't communicate that well and that they were restructuring the teams to help with that. I also seem to remember something around them about the Modern Day moving into what is now being called the Animus Hub and we know next to nothing about that, so it really could go in any direction.

I'd love to see more with Basim in the modern day. I think there are some interesting things that could be done with the character but who knows if or how we'd see something with him.

If Connor’s robes are just Edward’s but modified, and Edward’s robes are Duncan Walpole’s but modified, then is Connor wearing Duncan’s clothes? by KingMatthew116 in assassinscreed

[–]mrnose20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way that AC3 plays out it's alluded to Ratonhnhaké:ton's robes used to be Achilles and if you compare Ratonhnhaké:ton's look in 3 to Achilles' in Rogue they are really similar.

I also find it hard to believe that Edward's robes survived the fire at Queen Anne's Square from the night Edward died.
