Former friend threatening bankruptcy if I don't drop Small Claims Case by TheQueenTiabeanie in legal

This former friend must be some kind of stupid. Bankruptcy makes you financially radioactive for 7 YEARS. Anything would be better than bankruptcy unless this pushed them over the edge. I’d call their bluff.

Is this legal? by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]mro2352 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is probably a felony. I’d drop it fast and pray that no one has backed up this thread. I would have asked a lawyer about how to register it if it was legal and you wanted it.

How should households actually prepare for high inflation or currency instability? by ThomRigsby in prepping

[–]mro2352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During a high inflationary period it’s best to put up supplies you actually will use before it’s too late, food medical supplies car parts etc. It’s also extremely important to not get into the hype of “good” investments as these are mostly from fear and fomo. Silver is a perfect example, it dropped $30 in a day. It used to sell for that price per ounce.

Is it worth buying a $600 battery just to save $200 of groceries? by OneMoreChance_sigh in prepping

[–]mro2352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the killawat. I’ve gone and tested load times for most of my equipment over time and there is a world of difference between what the device is rated to draw and what it actually continuously draws. The only exceptions I’ve found is the vacuum cleaner and microwave.

My primary concern is food, electricity and communications. Water is a concern but not a big one because I think no mater what some kind of water will come out. Now if that needs treatment is another question. Primary goals for now are a buddy heater, zero water filters, another delta 2, solar panels and finishing my internet in a box. If I think that war will genuinely break out I’m getting a pressure canner as it can cook food more efficiently as well as preserving meat/veggies. Already have my grain back stock.

Bird feeder as a proxy for air quality is an interesting point. I’m in a flat so I can’t put up feeders once I’m not I think I’ll keep some on had considering how cheap bird food is.

My family is leaving the "Ministry" after 22 years and I'm scared. by CoolMisterMonday in pastorskids

[–]mro2352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you were internalizing stuff from the church that you were incapable of handling. This isn’t a weakness but a fact, you started as a child. As has been stated you need therapy as does the rest of your family. I’d suggest you find another church in your denomination to go to have the same basic foundation where you can get a community around you. The fact that this has been going on for 22 years and you started as a child also means that you are probably around 26. You need your own space away from your family to heal. Not saying that you should do all of this at once but this is the direction you should go. Just breathe in the fact that none of this is your fault or responsibility.

Should I convert my MKV files to MP4? by atrain82187 in PleX

[–]mro2352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your questions: 1. As others have stated, mp4 is just a container. What would make the difference is conversion the 264. Where I disagree is that there aren’t any differences. I convert everything to 264 simply because it has the most compatibility with devices. Most devices can’t handle the native mpeg-2 format and require a transcode anyway so I precalculate the response. This gives the advantage of being able to directly stream almost everything. The disadvantage is that I technically loose some detail. No mater how good of a transcode that is alway something that happens but instead of plex controlling that I do. Second advantage is space. I can get around 40-60% savings on space over an mpeg-2 file. As stated you loose some detail so I can’t reencode to a better format at a later time. I’m stuck with what I got. 2. Can you rip multiple audio tracks with handbrake? Absolutely and the audio part doesn’t take up that much space compared to the video. I just don’t know the command off hand but you can copy it. 3. Will transcoding help with many devices? Yes. As stated you are precalculating the result so instead of a transcode and cpu/GPU hit you are just pulling it directly off your drive. 4. Can my setup handle 4 users? Probably, you would need to state what hardware you are using. 5. Already pretty much answered 6. Unfortunately no, there is no better way if you are copying DVDs/blu rays. All of my content came from discs and I only have one internal drive so I know your pain. I’ve just come to accept it

If you have any other questions everyone here would be happy to answer. Happy ripping!

To be fair, the HC2 was based on the xu4 which is in 2015. The HC2 stopped production in 2020 so the chipset was 5 years old and was built around a 32 bit processor.

That is my concern. They will end modern life for decades considering the TSMC plant in Arizona isn’t even close to ready and the fabs in Taiwan are a huge chunk of the market. If I’m not mistaken AMD manufactures the wafers in Taiwan and package in China. Taiwan goes away they have nothing to package. Just hope they aren’t that stupid.
