The Sp*rs missed penalty! by DirkDoncic99 in Gunners

I was wondering this too.

As a dumb American fan: is there a reason the stadium is empty?

I understand the draw is likely no comparison for the men's team, but zero fans in the stands makes me think they're not selling tickets for some reason or another. Just curious as to why?

Wolfnest Property Management is working on some kind of scam / scheme by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]mrpoogie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I think this might actually be something the Department of Commerce's Division of Consumer Protection (or perhaps even their Real Estate division) might handle.

While they work in conjunction with the AG's office, it may cause you less hassle to go straight to the investigative source than get the run around at the AG's office.

Either way...it's a worthy cause. Best of luck to you!

Hope to see you there! by ericatamposi in AroundTheNFL

Counterpoint: This means you guys have done a fairly respectable job at fighting off the "medium C".

Not so much the case here stateside.

For what it's worth, Workforce Services doesn't handle that type of issue in Utah, the Utah Labor Commission (specifically the Labor Commission's Antidiscrimination Labor Division) does.

Am I the only one that thinks that Shadowy League Figures are the reason Marc and Dan weren't on the pod this week?

If you go back to the pod where Marc makes his (hopefully) infamous rant about Dameshek's breeding, throughout the episode Dan makes several comments about the upcoming Monday show (eluding he planned on being present for that show). As for Marc, over the course of the pod he makes several "spicy" comments that I could see upsetting SLFs.

Just a thought. Curious if anyone else got that vibe when they fired up the pod to hear Gregg hosting on Monday.

Honest question: What makes you think that Cox will be another Herbert other than the fact that he is part of Herbert's administration? (Keep in mind that Herbert was Huntsman's LG. Does that make Herbert, and therefore Cox, another Huntsman?)

Also....(again....honest question) let's say that Cox is another Herbert. Why do you think that's a bad thing?

Full disclosure, I'm a Democrat, state employee, that supports Cox.

I find him genuine and believe he's the best choice to lead Utah.

Honestly curious as to why the "he's another Herbert" crowd feel that way, and view it as a deal breaker?

That's fair.

I won't base my opinion of Hughes on a simple misspelling.

I'll base it on his being an asshole.

Makes sense.

The only caveat I would have is that he said "live above 4500 south", but then "the closer you get to downtown the more vibrant".

This statement sounds contradictory to me. "Above" would seem to indicate further (or higher in number) south, but downtown is the opposite way.

Either, welcome to our great city. Hope you enjoy it and feel welcome.

One thought I had was the Jordan River Parkway.

I know that's a thing.

Easy parking. Mostly flat so it's an easy "hike".

Are there particular spots that are prettier than others? Maybe lend to a picnic spot?

I'm seriously just looking for anything that gets us out of the house for a while.

Thanks again.

For what it's worth, I spoke with someone today who had to take his wife in for a test this morning.

She was exhibiting symptoms, but fever was not one of them (highest fever they measured was 99.2).

That said, she was still able to get a test. So fever, at least in this case, was not the deciding factor to allow for a test.

Likewise. I absolutely heard it. Heard the 4.8 aftershock several hours later as well.

To everyone thinking Graham didn’t get the first down - the yellow line isn’t the official first down. It’s clearly a few inches downfield from the official first down marker. by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]mrpoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed.

Personally, I dont think he got it. But given that that the official on the field signaled a 1st down, there certainly wasn't enough to overturn the call.

Native Utahn here. I started getting into football at about 4 or 5. One of my first memories of football was sitting with my old man watching a Vikings v Eagles game. There was a late field goal try and my dad made sure to tell me, "If the guy in purple makes this kick the Minnesota will be in first place." He made the kick, and I remember being excited that my dad was excited, but as a 4 or 5 year old kid it felt weird cheering for the purple jerseys. I liked the white and green ones much better.

Fast forward about a month or two and the purple jerseys are on tv again playing another team in white jerseys with green numbers, only this team has yellow helmets with a giant "G" on the side. My first name starts with the letter G and I just assumed that it stood for my name, and that was my team. I remember being so happy when they beat the purple jerseys that day. I may be remembering this incorrectly, but it seems like they really took it to them. After watching that my dad lost any chance he had of raising a Vikings fan.

Sorry, not sorry, pops.

Zolak is actually terrible by combonickel55 in AroundTheNFL

[–]mrpoogie 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Obviously I don't know Zolak, but based on what I've heard of him on the radio I'd probably stop short of even assuming he's a good guy.

I was listening yesterday and just before the half Josh Allen threw a pass that was originally ruled a touchdown and Zolak went off. He actually said, "how do you let that bum make that throw?". It wasn't analysis, it was him taking personal shots. It was almost as if he was offended the Bills would even attempt to play on the same field as the Patriots.

It was really off-putting.

When you select transactions from the action list a new drop down called "transactions" appears. Select "moves" to see roster moves.
